If you believe that the only explosives to be found would be bought in their explosive state you would be kidding yourself. There are plenty of ways to make explosives with every day materials. But even so I just knew a gun debate would erupt and so it has.

It'll be okay, honey, nothing will change. There was no regard given to 20 6 & 7 year olds murdered in their classroom so you know damn well no regard will be found for a bunch of faggots hanging out at a gay club. Everyone will get to buy and keep their super duper guns and high capacity magazines.

I think it's equally a gun problem and terrorism in this case. At some point he had contact with a known terrorist and was investigated, why didn't that show up on the back ground check when he bought the gun. And what does it matter if he was radicalized here or directly by ISIS, either way he's muslim and shares their beliefs and I'm sure there are many more amongst us that do also.

I've already stated that I don't believe he was a terrorist in the sense that ISIS are terrorist. I'm not viewing this as an act of terrorism, I see it as a hate crime.

That's pretty disturbing. Investigated by the FBI no less and he still walked away with 2 automatic weapons. One of them an assault rifle.

How does this guy not get put on some sort of Red Flag list?
Mind-boggling.

They are saying now he had a concealed carry permit and bought his guns legally. Zero sweat getting all the firepower he needed.

These are some of the people that were killed. I'm sorry they died. I'm sorry that they couldn't go home after a night of music and dancing, laughter & fun. I'm just so sorry that this keeps happening.
I get angry & frustrated and more than a little impatient with people but mostly what I get is a heart and mind filled with deep sadness.

I saw this tweeted yesterday;
Congratulations America! Once again with your ludicrous gun laws, you prove to the world that you are the true global leaders of terrorism.
Initially I brushed over it, but it's been on my mind all night.

I will agree with the above statement.
If a guy like this can legally purchase an AR-15 after twice being investigated by the FBI and traveling twice to Saudi Arabia, then I wonder, who CAN'T legally purchase a weapon?

It's mortifying. I know a guy from Scotland who was on his first trip to the states, opted to go to Kennedy space center, and Orlando. Don't even know the dude in real life but I keep fighting the urge to apologize to him and tell him we aren't all bloodthirsy maniacs. But then, that'd be lying...

Actually this is the third worst mass shooting that I can think of. If I remember correctly both 1 & 2 were committed by our own government.
1 was on Dec 29, 1890 when our government slaughtered anywhere from 150 - 300 men women and children when they tried to disarm them. Remember Wounded Knee?
2 , also committed by our government was on April 19, 1993 when 70 men women and children were cut down after Janet Reno approved the final assault on the Branch Davidians.
Unless we don't count these mass shootings because they were committed by our own Gov. If that's the case disregard this post.

The entire system is fucked and needs flushed and rewritten. Unless you were a felon or convicted of a domestic abuse charge you are almost good to go.
I beat the pro gun drum pretty hard but I do realize the system is useless the way it is. The problem with rewriting it is that in a attempt to stop all the bad guys from owning guns you will also catch quite a few good guys in the net and it isn't right to make the good guys pay for the mistakes of the bad.

Anderson is very emotional tonight talking about the people who were killed. He's saying every name and is on the verge of tears. I don't recall ever seeing an emotional news person on the air before.

I can't blame him. I'm sick to my stomach thinking about it anymore. Not just this shooting, but all of them.

Fair enough. I'll rephrase.
The Orlando attack is the worst uncontested mass shooting in our country's history.
Unlike Wounded Knee and Waco, there aren't alternate theories and claims which contradict the official account as to who attacked whom in Orlando, nor whether all of the fatalities were caused by gunshot wounds. Orlando was definitely a mass shooting attack, not a battle or stand-off over a dispute.
