There are two current cases of babies being murdered along with their mothers. It's difficult to imagine how even the worst of the worst can go so low.

RIP Katrina Rivera (30) and Baby Josiah -- Bakersfield, CA.



Katrina Rivera was the long-time partner of Manuel Vela. She was 9 months pregnant.

Vela choked her to death on their front porch on December 8^th.

-He then drove around with her dead body for hours
-He cut their baby son Josiah out of her womb with a razor blade......and when cops closed in.....
-He tried to flee, intentionally rammed into other cars, attempted to run over a CHP officer, hung the baby out the window as a shield, got out of the car on foot and ran with the baby, then dropped the baby in the gutter
--He was finally stopped by a K-9 officer. Katrina's body was in the trunk.

Vela is being arraigned this afternoon. He confessed to local tv interviewers after his arrest, at which time he said that he's mentally ill, the Anti-Christ, pledged his allegiance to ISIS and all kinds of other crazy shit. He has a history of domestic violence convictions and reportedly drug addiction.

Is he bullshitting to set up an insanity defense? Was he high on hallucinogenic drugs? Is he really schizophrenic? Here's a clip from one of his tv interviews if you wanna judge for yourselves.

RIP Shanna Vandewege (36) and Diederik Vandewege (3 months)-- Forth Worth, Texas



Craig Vandewege called 911 at 9:30 p.m. on December 15^th to report that he'd found his wife and 3-month-old dead in bed when he arrived home from work.

The deaths were both ruled homicides by the Medical Examiner (throats slashed).

Shanna's dad told reporters that she was so happy to have Diederik in August after suffering three miscarriages. He said that Craig Vandewege moved to Forth Worth first, earlier this year (unspecified date) to find a good home for his wife and unborn baby and Shanna joined him sometime later.

Shanna was on maternity leave but was employed at a local hospital. Shanna was an RN. Craig reportedly worked at Costco (there's a new one only 5 minutes from the couple's home and he had apparently worked at Costco in Colorado as well).

LE released no statements in the first few days, except to say that Craig was cooperating, no one had been ruled out as a suspect, and they were investigating.

Meanwhile, residents of the normally safe neighborhood were interviewed and on edge about a possible home invader and baby killer on the loose.

Yesterday, Forth Worth homicide detective Barron told the media that Craig Vandewege was no longer cooperating, had lawyered-up, could not be eliminated as a suspect, and was hindering the investigation.

Manuel Vela was arraigned today for two counts of first degree murder, recklessly evading a peace officer, and resisting an executive officer.

No plea was entered and he was assigned a doctor. He's due back in court on 1/20/17 for a competency hearing.

Craig Vandewege was arrested in Colorado last night for lack of insurance and speeding (after a very weird encounter with a dude at 7-11 who then called police).

While he was in jail in Colorado, authorities in Texas got their warrant for capital murder charges. He was detained just after bonding out on the local charges. He is in custody in Colorado right now.

After his arrest, multiple guns and ammo were found in the vehicle he was driving, along with camo, gas cans, numerous medication bottles, and condoms + wedding ring in his pocket.

More details on the Vandewege murders released today

Craig Vandewege is accused of slitting the throats of his wife and 3-month old son before he left for work on the morning of Thursday, Dec.15.

He was 45 minutes late getting to work that morning and told officers he stopped at the bagel shop to get coffee for his co-workers at Costco.

He did an asinine job of trying to stage the home to look like it was a burglary gone wrong, and he refused to let LE look at his phone because he said it was too invasive.

He had previously told a co-worker that he was on some new medication and had thoughts of pushing his then-pregnant wife down the stairs and killing her.

A couple of months later, a week before the murders, he told the co-worker he dreamed of slicing his wife and father's heads off like bologna.

He claimed his wife's wedding ring, diamond earrings and pearls were missing from the crime scene -- nothing else.

When he was busted in Colorado in his dead's wife car on Wednesday night, trying to make a run for it.........he told officers that the government was conspiring to frame him for murder and he was on his way to Las Vegas to talk to Donald Trump so they could work this out.

Craig Vandewege does not seem mentally ill to me -- he held down a good job at an Optical Manager at Costco, had a nice house in Colorado and bought another in Texas, etc... I think he was a heartless piece of shit who didn't want to be father and husband anymore, didn't want to pay child support, and was probably messing around and on drugs.
