Sorry, but I'm a fan of any team that beats the Cowboys, Giants, or Redskins. Especially if it puts us in 1st place in the division.

Well, it sure is fun to watch an offense perform without mediocre/poor offensive line play.

People that know football have understood since the beginning of time that controlling the line of scrimmage is the key to success.

Last night, my Vikings marched out 5 new offensive linemen, the first time that has happened since 2007. These guys did not take 1 snap together as a unit during the pre-season.

What I saw was really impressive: Sam Bradford upright for almost the entire game (1 sack) which allowed him to throw the ball down the field all night.

Our rookie running back ran for 127, and while holes weren't massive, there had to have been some openings obviously.

The D bent, but didn't break (until garbage time as Brees dressed up his stats late in the game).

All in all, a very, very nice win, and promise for the season.

I'm glad for you, MS. I know you weren't terribly excited for the new season. Now you have hope. Smiley_emoticons_smile

Thanks.

You guys got a nice win too.

I love all sports, but I'm really bummed when my football team sucks.

My team plays KC this week. Not only playing against our old HC but our new HC's former boss. Ahahaha!

I'd think this would be a great week for a KC let down after handing it to the Pats up in NE.

Vikes are @ Pittsburgh.

Going to be hard to duplicate performance from last night.

I believe I've seen them anywhere from 9th-12th.

You know, statistically our defense has been Top 5 the last 2 years. That part of the equation is solid.

Obviously, the offensive performance the other night was awesome: 477 yards and 4 TD's, BUT it came against New Orleans, pretty much dead last in D last season.

So, I think for now, it's probably accurate.

Going on the road against PITT this week should give me a pretty good indicator of where we are.

If Bradford stays healthy and your o line can keep him off his back I think you guys have a shot. Those are pretty big if's though. I'd like to see Bradford do well there.

Last year, Bradford set an NFL record for completion percentage, but hardly any of those throws went farther than 10 yards.

So, Monday Night's game was great from the standpoint that I believe 7 of his completions traveled 20+ yards.

I always go back to: the guy was a #1 overall draft pick for a reason. He must've had SOME upside.

By the way, our new tailback, Dalvin Cook, picked up the blitz beautifully a couple of times, something AP could never really master.

Everyone around here is afraid to get too excited and we all want to see what happens in the Steel City.

Yeah, Steelers will be a pretty solid litmus test for you guys I think. Did they give Sam a descent contract this year? I think that's what all the short passes were about. Padding his completion stats to get a better deal.
