How about these refs though? The day after both games "oh um 'scuse me but...yeah we missed this call, and this other one....oh and uhh that one too"
Sidenote- I don't understand how a felon (convicted of tax evasion and obstruction) can be an NBA ref but a pothead can't work at, like...office max.
Can somebody trim Draymond's claws on the plane? Looking at LeBron and seeing that eye makes my ass clench up...hurts me just to look at it.
Still waiting on Ty Lue's simple ass to substitute effectively. Would like to see Korver in the game more. Would love to see Jose Calderon get in when maybe Clarkson or JR get cold.
It's about to get interesting tonight
I hate the ‘day after’ officiating reports.
All they do is rub salt in the wound.
Basketball players with long nails should be denied entry until they’re clipped to a League standard.
I can’t tell you the number of times my arms and hands have been scratched so bad they’re bleeding (including just a few weeks ago). A guy looked at me and said you may want to go take care of that as blood is dripping off my arm.
Anyway, I expect the Cavs to step up and win this next game too.

Welp, I kinda figured the Cavs were doomed tonight when I read this post. ')
JR and Love both had a great first half though -- I was glad to see it.
KD was outstanding tonight. He really stepped up with Steph and Klay being far from their best.

Durant essentially won the game by himself.
Pretty impressive stuff.
I also thought about my personal jinx angle, and while I was simply trying to reassure Koko, I should’ve said nothing.
LeBron looks spent. Almost as if he’d be okay if they just called it a series right now. The Cavs just don’t have the firepower to compete.

UGHHHH.
It's at this point where I'd like to buy into the idea of it being rigged....and optimistically imagine that Adam Silver wants to see LeBron lead the first team to ever overcome being down 3-0.

Don't judge. Do you know the pain of being a Cleveland sports fan?!

Hey, 4 straight NBA Finals appearances (including a Championship), a World Series appearance 2 years ago (including a thrilling Game 7) and the historically anemic Cleveland Browns.
Your Cleveland Barons were something back in the day too.
Really bad.
In fact I believe Gilles Meloche began his career there. Only my favorite goalie of all time.

I remember the browns leaving. But really my first taste of being a Cleveland fan was the 97 world series. Understood it enough to be really fucking bummed. Even at 7 y/o.

The Warriors won the NBA Championship last night with a 4-game sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kevin Durant took the Finals MVP trophy.
The victory parade will go down on Tuesday in Oakland.

The question on a lot of people's minds is whether or not last night was LeBron James' final game with the Cavs. LeBron responded to that question post-game:
"Understanding especially where my boys are at this point in their age. They were a lot younger the last time I made a decision like this four years ago. I've got a teenage boy, a pre-teen and a little girl that wasn't around as well. So sitting down and considering everything, my family is a huge part of whatever I'll decide to do in my career, and it will continue to be that. So I don't have an answer for you right now as far as that."
LeBron also revealed that he played the last three games with a serious hand injury.

It’s a 2 team league and very boring for the rest of us.
I love basketball, just wish the NBA wasn’t so predictable.
When the 2 nd best player in the NBA (Durant) joins three others that are in the Top 15, it’s pretty predictable.
Durant got his Titles, but I’m not happy for him.
He could’ve gutted it out, gone to his hometown (DC) and joined John Wall and Bradley Beal.
He wins a Title with those guys and people are celebrating him.
Instead, those of us in the know simply shrug our shoulders and say the NBA sucks.

Well, MS, you correctly predicted the final outcome of the Finals series, as did most of us.
And, you were wrong about several games along the way, as were many of us. Houston and Boston put up very good fights against the two currently dominant teams.
And, yes, the Warriors have a great team and a great coach. That's what all teams want and work hard towards. It sure wasn't always that way for Golden State.
Anyway, I don't begrudge any sports teams for being successful. I like all the teams and I'm happy for them and their fans when they win. I also like that the NBA supports its players and does a lot of good in communities. And I always support the home teams. For me, it's just fun and exciting entertainment.
I don't know why you think being the best, for now, is somehow unfair and players like Durant shouldn't aspire to be champions; that just sounds like sour grapes. There have always been periods when a couple of teams were on fire for several years and I hope yours becomes one of them soon.
And, since you're being such a killjoy, I hope the Warriors sign LeBron James!!

Philly wants him so bad. When I was reading the sports pages earlier I saw that Carson Wentz & Zach Ertz went out to watch the game and they are letting people think they were there to put in their 2 cents about coming to Philadelphia.

Well, it would be a very exciting acquisition for the 76ers.
I think almost every NBA franchise would sign LeBron if they could work their salary caps to make it happen without sacrificing the mid to long term futures of their teams. After 15 years in the league and at age 33, he's still the best overall player on the court (in my opinion).
I wouldn't really want to see him wearing a Warriors' jersey. But, the Clippers and the Lakers sure could use him.
I read that the Spurs are seriously considering making a hard push to acquire LeBron if he leaves Cleveland, same with the Miami Heat (again).

HotD, because the W’s are your team, of course you’re going to express the opinion that you did.
I certainly don’t ‘begrudge’ GS for what they did prior to adding Durant.
Home grown players, and a coach with no experience.
That was really impressive.
However, strictly from a fan of the league, adding the 2nd best player to that nucleus just makes everything else really yawn-inspiring.
I don’t like it when there isn’t changeover in leagues.
4 straight years now with same Finals matchup.
Unprecedented in any league in the era of free agency.
I’m just not a fan of where the NBA is right now.

It's not because the Warriors are my home team, MS. I felt the same way when they were in the gutter.
I've just been watching the finals for decades and never got bored, no matter who was playing.
I've been a Clippers fan forever. One day, maybe, they'll be where the Warriors are now. Or not. But, I still like to root for them and watch them play regardless.
We're just different kinds of sports fans; not a problem.

I agree with a lot of your points MS and totally understand the "boredom" (I'm sure there's a better word, but, oh well) of these finals match ups. I was excited when Houston was up in the conference finals. Not necessarily because I thought we might have stood more of a chance...but because I liked the idea of different match ups. Just...something different.
So...personally I'm choosing to believe LeBron will stay. But I'm curious..what do your guts' say?
IF he leaves, the petty side of me would love to see him go with OKC.

Just so you know, in the NFL thread we all consider his gut instinct to be the kiss of death.

Well, maybe this is good news for you, because I’ve believed since the beginning of the season that he’s leaving CLE this offseason.
Now, I’ve felt for awhile that he’s heading to LA.
I’ve heard he wants to get into film (tv or big screen, not sure) and LA would be the place for him.
However, now that I look at the Lakers and Clips, I’m not sure either looks attractive enough to him as far as contending for a championship.
I had never considered OKC, but wouldn’t be great to see him team with Russell and take down the Warriors? (I don’t think they could)
Houston sounds intriguing, and it’d be interesting to see if Harden and Paul would be able to defer to Bron. That team could give GS a serious run for their money.
I feel like he’ll stay in the East though.
Would he willing to team up with Philly’s young nucleus? I’d like to see him there.
People have talked about him going back to Miami. I don’t see that happening.
I’ll say:
1 st choice- Philly
2 nd choice- Houston
Let me add that I could see him going to the Lakers if Paul George ends up there.
