THE DEMS PLAN A COMEBACK
We were wondering at the water bubbler today how many Dem votes were "found" and how many Pub votes were found in the trunk of whoever's car the ballots turned up from.

Uh, hello, that voter fraud fraudster, Kris Kobach, who is overseeing his own recount, got caught under counting his opponents votes. Do you have anything to say about that or is it more of party over country?

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Approves Restricting Superdelegate Votes

I think this was smart and long overdue.  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/08/...ocess.html

Although superdelegates reportedly never actually went against the vote of other delegates, there was wide perception that these prominent ('elite') party members wielded undue power.  I never saw any purpose for them except in the case of a primary tie anyway.

Bernie and his staunch supporters were very much against superdelegates in the 2016 Democratic primaries, which caused some friction among Dems.

Now that superdelegates won't be involved in the first votes, Dems believe that young Americans who embrace Democrat values but oppose the superdelegate concept will be more apt to join and formally support the Democratic Party.

Next, I hope both parties can work together to evaluate removing the electoral college from our voting process and moving to popular vote only.  The more I think about it and its original purpose, the more I believe it doesn't work as planned and suppresses the votes/will of the majority of voters.

I seriously doubt that the Republicans would sincerely agree to consider evaluating the electoral college's viability though.  They've lost the popular vote in 6 out of 7 of the last elections.

I don't like their bullshit gerrymandering either. Such a crock of shit.

That was 2012.
He may have changed his opinion since then.

I remember Trump, the reality tv star, tweeting that Zero.  I think it was one of a flurry of tweets about the idiocy of the electoral college and how citizens should take to the streets in masses to protest the re-election of President Obama.

Of course, when citizens actually did take to the streets to protest the election of Trump four years later, he strongly condemned such protests and deemed the electoral college "genius."

President Trump is busy criticizing and wanting to outlaw people 'flipping' and getting immunity in court.

He better pray 'flipping' one's own views for personal/political gain doesn't become illegal; he'd be serving a life sentence.  ')

I've thought a little about what Fry Guy said in another thread in regards to who do Dems have for 2020. No one stands out to me. I like Kamala, what's not to like, I like Adam Chiff but I don't think he's forceful enough, same goes for Eric Swalwell but I might only like him because he tweeted to trump to go scream into a pillow. hah  Can't be having our elected officials say shit like that.

I think the Dems are right to be focusing on the midterms and not so concerned about having a clear 2020 frontrunner at this point.

Nobody saw Obama coming before he threw his hat in the ring in 2006/2007. And, Trump sure wasn't considered the frontrunner for Republicans when he announced his candidacy in 2015/2016.

Someone will emerge from the Dem pack in the next couple of years, just like in the past. I do think there will likely be a lot of Democrat presidential candidates for 2020, like there were Republican candidates in 2016. But, so long as they don't eat each other alive and the party unites around a clear message and goals, the one who wins the Democratic Primary will hopefully be able to give President Trump or another Republican candidate a run for his/her money.

I found the perfect flag they can fly at their rallies.

I had to research what that flag stood for.   Revolutionary Communist Party of the U.S.A.   78

Your implication is equivalent to a Liberal suggesting that the Republican Party fly the Russian flag or KKK flag at its rallies Mags.  Misguided extremist rhetoric (or, hopefully, ironic humor?).

There is a democratic socialist wing of the Democrat Party and a couple of their candidates have won recent elections.  They're pushing for health care for all, stricter gun safety/control, demilitarization of police, better quality and more accessible education for everyone, less restrictive immigration policy, etc.............via our election and legislation processes.

That's not even in the same ballpark as the old extremist RCP group.

Well, the Democrats have achieved one major comeback, by means of winning the House of Representatives by the biggest vote margin in U.S. history.

And, Nancy Pelosi has definitely made a comeback, by means of successfully rallying the diverse Democratic caucus to win the vote for Speaker of the House.  She's the first person to be re-elected to the third most powerful governmental post, after losing it, in like 50 years.

I think she's gonna face some of the same challenges Boehner did when he was the Republican Speaker.  The far left progressives in the new House might obstruct her as much as the far right Tea Party (now Freedom Caucus) representatives did when they were elected during Boehner's tenure.  Although............Pelosi might just be able to unite them for the most part.  We'll see.

It will definitely be interesting to see which Democrats end up running for President.  Elizabeth Warren is first out of the gate, but it's expected that there will be more than 15 others throwing their hats in the ring over the next several months.

Amen, the next two years are going to be a 6 ring circus.
