Week 1 picks (against the spread)
PHIL (-1) over Atl
CLE (+3.5) over Pitt
INDY (-3) over Cincy
Tenn (-1.5) over MIA
SF (+6.5) over MINN
Hou (+6.5) over NE
Tampa (+9.5) over NO
NYG (+3) over Jax
BALT (-7.5) over Buffalo
Kansas City (+3) over LA CHARGERS
Seattle (+3) over DENVER
ARIZ (-1) over Wash
Dallas (+3) over CAROLINA
GREEN BAY (-7.5) over Chicago
DETROIT (-6.5) over NYJets
LARams (-4) over OAKLAND
Noteworthy: Pitt is without LeVeon Bell and I think the Browns win outright. Vikes rally to nip the Niners but don’t cover the spread. Dogs NYG, Houston and Seattle win outright. Pack wins by 14+ in Rodgers return and Lions win by 14+ ruining Sam Darnild’s debut. Sam Bradford makes a great impression in win over Skins and Rams win by 14+ to ruin Jon Gruden’s return to Oak-town.

There was a rain delay and I missed the entire game because I fell asleep. I'm so disgusted. I've waited months for that game. I'll watch it today on the NFL channel. It was a nail biter, huh.

Excellent finish!
Atlanta had 5 plays from inside the 10 (and last play from the 5) to score a TD, but couldn’t.

49ers @ Vikes this week HotD.
If Minny wins, you fly here to fulfill all my fantasies and if the Niners win I never get to mention ANYTHING sexual between the two of us ever again, unless of course, you’d like me to.
Edit: btw, I’m sitting on the deck enjoying a 75F degree day, in to my 3rd Bombay & Tonic, so don’t take any of this too seriously.
Unless you’d like to?

Wow, my last reply reads like I'm already buzzed. Wish I were. Stuck at the office for about 30 more minutes, then I'm definitely having a Vodka w/diet tonic.
I think I'm going to have to pass on the bet MS because I'll be traveling a bit in the next few weeks and wouldn't be able to make it your way if I lose, which seems likely if I'm reading this right:

Your Vikes are projected to win by a slim margin, right? How does the 6.5 deal work?

HotD, hope you some time for a cocktail last night?
The point spread is meant to even the gambling odds on a particular game.
Instead of picking games straight up (just the winner of said matchup) the point spread is meant to make it more of a 50-50 proposition.
Tomorrow, Minnesota is favored by 6.5 points. If a person bet on Minny, they’d have to win the game by a full 7 points in order to win their bet.
A person who bets on SF tomorrow ‘plus the points’ is banking on the Niners either winning the game outright, or losing by no more than 6.
Hope that helps.

I get it now. Thanks MS.
I had one drink at the bar across from the office and crashed as soon as I got home. Too many work-related fires these days.
Anyway, I'm gonna pass on this bet. Based on the very little I know about both teams, I think your Vikings will probably win by 7 or more points.

You're kicking our butts MS. I know you said you don't gamble on sports anymore, but at least you'll win some bragging rights.

Biggest news on Rogers is will he play next week. Many suspect he faked his injury.

I doubt he faked it, and if he did, so the Pack could see what they had in backup DeShone Kizer, they know now.
Yikes!!
Anyway, everyone here is predicting the Vikes put him out of action for the season again. I hope that’s not the case, but wouldn’t surprise me to see Aaron stay in the pocket 100% of the time this week.

It looks likes he's expected to start today.

MS, did they let your kicker on the plane or did he have to catch a ride with the Brown's kicker?

He had to hitchhike back.
To think we wasted a 5 th round draft pick on that guy.
Our GM is a clown.
