MID-TERM ELECTIONS
This is one of the racist robocalls sent out to some Floridians last week to deter them from voting for Gillum.

Ron DeSantis won the Florida governorship primary for the Republicans last night.

He went with the 'Trump is God' campaign strategy and was endorsed by the Commander In Chief.

His campaign ad, which was obviously effective, was so seriously sickeningly sycophantic.

That was seriously nauseating and just plain weird. I should probably pay more attention to this stuff and start voting.

I hope you end up with Gillum as governor.  He's ahead in the polls and seems like a very competent and decent public servant.

DeSantis is creepy and comes across as completely self-serving, to me.  His support and donations from white supremacists only makes it worse.

Gillum is corrupt and so are his siblings

There was a time that may have ruined someone's chances but now that despicable shit is out in the open and there's a segment of society that is drawn to it.

They may or may not support and/or donate to him but he doesn't support or associate with them. It is not despicable for him their support any more than it is despicable for George R R Martin to be responsible for the support ISIS has of his Game of Thrones series (which incidentally is REALLY high among those terrorists).

It would be despicable to pretend he was responsible for their support or in control of it.

But you are smart and know that already

The Republican party has lost women by the droves and doesn't have a high percentage of non-white support.  They need as many white male votes as they can get.

So they're actively looking to attract aggrieved white men who buy into the notion that white people and men are victims of racism, feminism, and societal suppression in today's America and want to go backwards, in my opinion.

In any case, eligible white supremacist citizens have just as much right as any other citizens to vote and support leaders who they believe reflect their values.

I'm glad to see a record number of strong female and minority candidates running for Congress this year.  Hopefully, they'll inspire high voter turn-out and our body of elected lawmakers will include more representatives with personal experience and insight in regards to the issues faced by a diversity of constituents.

Great line of bullshit there, Snowflake. Why do you deliberately lie so much and so easily?

That's been a real eye opener and more than a little disappointing on a few occasions.

Did you see that the head of the GOP publicly condemned Iowa Representative Steve King today Duchess?

King has been a not-so-secret white supremacist for years and barely called out for it.

^King, an eight-term Iowa Republican from Kiron, has had a history of making controversial statements about race, immigration, LGBTQ issues and climate change and has repeatedly visited Europe and met with members of far-right political groups.

But criticism has reached a crescendo in the wake of the massacre of 11 Jews at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh and reports that King met in August in Austria with members of the Freedom Party, a political organization founded by a former Nazi SS officer.

He also sat for an interview with Unzensuriert, a Freedom Party-aligned publication.

Looks to me like with more Republican lawmakers and candidates collaborating with white supremacist leaders and groups, some at the GOP are starting to realize how that might be a very damaging brand for the party.

I really hope King loses his re-election bid, but that's not a certainty.

Yeah, I heard about it. I also read that supporters are pulling their dollars from him. Good! Do the right thing!

I don't feel it's a certainty either, I will probably never again feel that anything in politics is a certainty.

Since he's family, I guess you can't just tell him to stick his vote right up his fucking ass.  ')

I don't care if you vote or not.

But, I do hope you end up with Gillum as your governor.  He's way better than the alternative, in my opinion.

I would prefer Gillum too. I think. I don't think Im informed enough to vote, though. I don't have the time to research these assholes so I feel like I should not be voting. Plus I really don't give a shit.
