I don't mind it. Is the baby kicking yet, do you have any hemorrhoids or heartburn, are you worried about shitting on the bed while giving birth?

lol I dont plan on giving birth in my bed. But in a tub (you know Im giving birth at home, right?). Baby was moving just now...its like popcorn since its pretty small. Little bugger got frisky after I took a bath.

No hemmis and no heartburn yet.

Actually, not everyone does. I didnt with my first. And my last 2 doula clients didnt either...

If you're shitting on the bed you're pushing too hard. Blah blah blah, I dont want to get into my childbirth feminist shit. lol

One little tip about birthing in a tub though.... be careful when the baby is crowning. The baby's face hitting the air sometimes causes them to take their first breath. If the baby's face hits the air and then it gets submerged again, it could get a lungfull of water. I forget where I read that, but it was when I was considering home-birth methods and such.

I couldn't do a home-birth anyway because my son was big and I nearly wasn't able to push him out. 2 ¹⁄₂ hrs of pushing... that was some stressful shit right there.

Hopefully though, you'll have an easy time of it. Be sure you have a good doula on call.

Hmmm never heard of a problem with that...since essentially they're coming from water into water. I have a midwife I am paying to assist me so no need for a doula

If there is shit in your colon when you go into labor, it's gonna come out when that head comes down and pushes it through.

Yeah.... well, I wasn't trying to be morbid. Just saying, if it's not something you're aware of, ya should be. Knowledge is power and all that, ya know?

Apparently, most of the problems occur because either the water isn't warm enough, or the mother raises her pelvis up out of the water as the baby's head comes out and the cool air hits its face, then she puts it back under the water.

That only happens when the birthing tub is too shallow, like a bathtub, which is why I mentioned it. I'm sure you will be careful though. I know there toward the end, I was pretty much going into panic mode trying to push my son out. His heart was getting thready... I'd been pushing a long time... I was getting tired.... fortunately he finally popped out. They had to cut me, even though I requested not to be (cut). The midwife said "If you don't let me cut you a little, he's not coming out of there".

My son was 9lbs 7oz though. =p

Yeah my tub will be three feet i think? An actual birthing tub, not a bath tub. Glad we could talk about it though I love talking birthy stuff.
