Tulsa, Oklahoma (CNN) -- Authorities in Oklahoma arrested two people early Sunday in connection with a deadly spate of apparently random shootings in Tulsa that have had residents on edge.
About 30 representatives from four law enforcement agencies -- the Tulsa police, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Marshals Service and the FBI -- had been working around the clock looking for the person that authorities say killed three people and wounded two others in shooting attacks early Friday.
The police identified the arrested men as Jake England, 19, and Alvin Watts, 32. They were taken into custody from a home in Tulsa.
"We're not exactly sure what their relationship is to another, whether they are friends or extended family members," said Capt. Jonathan Brooks.
The men did not offer any resistance, he said.
The pair will be charged with three counts of murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill, the department said.
Neither has made a public statement.
Both England and Watts are white. All the victims were African-American.

Sanford, Florida (CNN) -- Special prosecutor Angela Corey has decided against using a grand jury in the case involving the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, her office said Monday.
"The decision should not be considered a factor in the final determination of the case," the office said in a statement.
The grand jury, set to convene Tuesday, was "previously scheduled by the former prosecutor," the statement said.
Corey said the investigation into the case continues. The state attorney has maintained that a grand jury is not needed to file possible criminal charges against George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed the teen February 26.

Any gut feel as to whether this is indicative that an arrest is imminent based on strong evidence, or if instead the state attorney doesn't feel there's sufficient evidence yet to present to a Grand Jury?
It surprises me that we're hearing the day before that the GJ has been cancelled and is not necessary.

in florida only FIRST DEGREE murder needs/must have a grand jury indictment. so that tells me that she is considering 2nd degree or manslaughter. or perhaps no charges at all.
this wasn't really a surprise since she did not want her hand forced by a grand jury. she wants to control what charges are brought if any.
i do think she almost has to bring him to trial for something to clear this entire thing up by a jury decision. how soon? well it seems to me there has been enough time for a complete investigation.

even now CNN reports this:

i should probably read OK news outlets. but it's so cut and dried it doesn't matter.
evidently they have both confessed. if the Feds want to prosecute it as a hate crime it appears that is the case. but it's death row either way for these two. Jake England told investigators he shot three of the five victims, while Alvin Watts told police he shot the other two, according to the incident report provided by police.

I'd like to know how soon we can expect the Revs Sharpton & Jackson to arrive in North Minneapolis to profess their outrage over this crime that occurred yesterday.
This was not your usual 'gang-bangers killing each other' type of crime. A 59 year old woman and her elderly parents were gunned down in their home. Even worse, there were children present because it was a day-care.
However, since the suspect is also black, I'm sure I'll be waiting many moons to hear the Revs say anything.
