Gay History? - username - 04-15-2011 Fucking California is set to become the first state to require the teaching of gay history. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110414/ap_on_re_us/us_gay_history_calif_schools What's next, the history of obesity? Obese people are subject to being bullied, right? A local article stated that California already requires schools to cover the contributions of: women, African-Americans, Mexican Americans, entrepreneurs (wtf?), Asian Americans, European Americans, American Indians and labor (promoting unions, are we??). RE: Gay History? - ramseycat - 04-15-2011 Gay history??? Gay history. Hmm. (didn't we used to have an eye roll smiley?) In the beginning, there were two men, one man giveth and the other receiveth...in the ass. RE: Gay History? - thekid65 - 04-15-2011 Jesusfuckingchrist.....it's no wonder the Asians and Indians are kicking the USA's asses in the education of our youth. RE: Gay History? - shitstorm - 04-15-2011 That's commie lefties for ya. RE: Gay History? - Maggot - 04-15-2011 Private school looks better every day. How can a State with some of the best natural resources turn into such a mess? Some featherhead will be along soon saying "Whats wrong with that!" RE: Gay History? - Cracker - 04-15-2011 So, do they "out" people as part of the curriculum? I don't see how you can possibly bitch. You live in Harvey Milk land. RE: Gay History? - username - 04-15-2011 (04-15-2011, 09:56 PM)Cracker Wrote: So, do they "out" people as part of the curriculum? Accidental. You live across the street from white trash low-lifes. Does that mean you're that? Harvey Milk is pretty much the only "hero" of gay history (I guess, I didn't even see the movie). I wouldn't want to be the one writing about gay history. How do you even fill up a page? I guess Rock Hudson could get a sentence... A full page photo spread of Anderson Cooper might help. RE: Gay History? - Cracker - 04-15-2011 I don't like any of the separatist histories. If you call it gay history, you are separating them from the herd and holding gays out as different. Same with black history. I think if I live here long enough I might become assimilated. If I start talking about ghosts, coughing up a lung, running out of beer on Sunday, or chewing out my child's probation officer, please give me a heads up. I think that separatist histories actually perpetuate stereotypes of a "lesser" group. Similarly, I'm opposed to affirmative action. RE: Gay History? - ZEROSPHERES - 04-16-2011 I think it may be theraputic for young people struggling to accept their sexual orientation. I can see benefit in this. RE: Gay History? - IMaDick - 04-16-2011 Stupid shit from stupid people, it's fitting. why not just accept some people are born criminals and murderers? I'm telling you ted bundy was a born killer, and so was jeffery dahmer, maybe society should just accept the serial killer, after all they are compulsive about the behavior, they are definitely born that way. RE: Gay History? - aussiefriend - 04-16-2011 yesterday on Oprah on the Womens channel, Dennis Leary quoted Arnold Schwarzengger saying "I believe gay marriage should be between a man and a woman" RE: Gay History? - ZEROSPHERES - 04-16-2011 (04-16-2011, 02:18 AM)Cracker Wrote:I don't know how they would define it but my interpretation would be a sexual orientation towards your own gender, not by your choice. In fact the only choice the individual has is to accept it or fight it, but it's a reality that is undeniable. I don't know how you feel about it but I am sure sex ed would be a part of it. I disagree with others who have equated it with being born a criminal or murderer. That highly charges the issue and polorizes the discussion.(04-16-2011, 12:46 AM)ZEROSPHERES Wrote: I think it may be theraputic for young people struggling to accept their sexual orientation.
