I saw this last night on the news. What this does internationally is create embarrassment for the US. We, as westerners are on our high horse telling Syria, Iran etc to 'stop this shit', then something like this can undermine the credibility and influence the US has on the international stage.

I don't think that it is the fact that they did it. Worse than this goes on in a war zone. It's the fact that they have had their picture taken and it has been exposed worldwide. There will be repercussions, I hope there is no backlash. Which I think is inevitable. This is the sort of stuff that is used for recruiting.....and I don't mean marines!

I agree Maggot. We are not in their shoes and risking our lives. We don't know what kind of stress they are under every second.

However, the implications of these pictures being released after what happened in Iran the day before can impact us all globally. Certainly in the West. We are seen as the enemy and these sort of images add to the propaganda and misinformation that is being brainwashed into the masses.

There is no mistaking the fact this will have negative implications diplomatically, and directly. The thing is these guys may see them as 'Taliban' whilst others see them as 'muslims'. And that is the way it will be portrayed. Big difference.
