Maybe it's a mother vs father thing. Last year when my son and his wife were here visiting, they went out to my son's class reunion one night. I waited up for them - and they're 29!! They live half way around the world from me, so most of the time I don't have a clue what they're doing. But if they're here, I can't sleep until I know they're home safely. My husband, on the other hand, went to bed at his usual time and slept soundly.

I have no idea whether or not Trayvon's father tried to call the cousin. I can't even fathom how the father came to that conclusion. When your child goes out to walk to the store and doesn't come back in a reasonable amount of time, I don't think people would jump to the worst possible conclusions, but would call to find out what was going on.

A leaked autopsy reportedly shows that the bullet that killed Florida teen Trayvon Martin was fired from "intermediate range," which one forensics expert said means anywhere from one to 18 inches away.

The autopsy, conducted by the medical examiner in Volusia County, Fla., also showed that 17-year-old Martin had one small abrasion on his left ring finger below the knuckle, according to the news report. The report could back the account of George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain accused of killing Martin, who has said he fired into Martin's chest in self-defense as the youth was straddling and pummeling him.

The autopsy report was reviewed by NBC News, but not made available to the public. A spokesman for Volusia County, Fla., told Fox News the report was not made public and was leaked by someone other than the Volusia County Medical Examiner's Office.

I am sure you are right. Even when my child spends the night at my parents house, I can not rest until I know they are home for the night. IDK if he couldn't get a hold of him and there was sirens/cop cars/ems all over the place...wouldn't ANYONE be alarmed?

Given the information the prosecutor had, it's very odd she went for 2^nd degree murder. Any defense lawyer will be able to use the broken nose, lacerations, and now potentially offensive wounds on Martin to mount a substantial argument.

The state will have a hell of a time proving depraved mind for a 2^nd degree murder conviction.

I've posted many times in this thread, and the more information that comes out, it looks as though Z is most likely telling the truth.

He told the dispatcher there was a suspicious suspect in the community. He was told not to engage nor pursue, but, with all the crime there, he decided to follow, but, and I'm guessing, at a reasonable distance.

Trayvon tells his girlfriend there's somebody following him. I think T eluded him in there somewhere (either running and circling back or hiding behind something).

As Z heads back to his truck, he's jumped from behind. Staggering and falling, T jumps on top of him and begins to pummel him. Z, knowing he's getting beat to a pulp, reaches for his weapon and probably fires from 6 to 12 inches away.

If this is in fact the scenario, T deserved what he got. He assaulted someone, and that someone happened to be armed. Bad break for him.

No one has ever confirmed that he assaulted a bus driver in the days leading to the incident in Sanford, and maybe he didn't. But, if he did, I would not doubt the above scenario AT ALL.
