I only meant that it was much easier for me to remain detached when I was simply reading about it. The prosecutor paints a very vivid picture of the duct tape, how tightly the bags were taped around their throats, tight to the point of cutting off their air. When he described the petechia on Johnny's face it was so disturbing, he spoke of it being on the top half of his face but there was nothing but a clean white path on the bottom half and how that meant pressure had been applied there, he had been held down with force. I know people are saying that Lisa died first, I'm not debating this, I want to be clear on that, I'm not argumentative about this but I could have sworn the prosecutor said that cardboard found on Lisa's tape meant that she died last. It's right around the twenty minute mark. As a couple of you already mentioned, it is exceeding difficult to hear.

Microphone was probably 10 ft. away from podium and neither person spoke very loud. I hope channel 13 will post the whole trial. that would be great. BUT I enjoy being where the action is. Great option if i can't get in tho.

I just finished watching all three parts. No sound problem. No problems at all. Nothing that I didn't really know either.
Pettaway's defense is going to be that DNA is portable. Maybe he gave a half-smoked cigarette to his buddy Sam. Johnny was selling weed out the Straub's home. Sam may have been over at some point to buy weed from Johnny with that half-smoked cigarette. Nothing to prove it was part of the murders. Sharita Crumby left a cigarette butt weeks before. LE ignored leads, Johnny owed a lot of people money including Anthony and Christopher Watson. The jurors are going to wonder what John and Maytee knew about what was going on and what happened to Johnny and Lisa. All the usual suspects like Tiff, Zach, AP and Alex C. And of course, the crime scene was contaminated and corrupted. The Judge believes the trial will last one week.

I'm starting to let myself hope the prosecution has some serious aces up their sleeves and the reason they are waiting might have something to do with involving other or even avoiding a plea to get out of an appropriate sentence. In order for something to make it to trial there needs to be a certain amount of evidence already. Also with the prosecution has a lot of unlabeled evidence the defense kept demanding to be revealed but the judge allowed it to be kept secret. Lets not forget about our confidential witnesses...they may be the nails in the coffin. Just trying to cheer everyone up...hope its not in vain. Criminals are stupid....unlike the movies. They want to be viewed as badasses so I feel very confident someone ran their mouth. Bragging if you will. Cheer up everyone. I think the prosecution is hiding something.

I'll keep playing devil's advocate here. No matter how gruesome the descriptions of the crime and crime scene are, and the prosecution is banking on that for the emotional appeal, they must tie the defendants to Johnny's and Lisa's dead bodies. It's really disturbing that the DNA on the murder victims belongs to people other than the defendants. What this tells me is, "Someone else killed Johnny and Lisa but we've got these other guys, here, who smoked in the garage". Or, as floated, only one of those guys smoked in the garage, having gotten the cig from his buddy. Does that mean Williams was in the garage, getting the cig from Pettaway, or the other way around? When were they (or one of them) there? The night of the murders or days before? I would not be satisfied, as a juror, to be hearing that it's not the killers on trial for murder but their possible accomplices or lookouts.

I have been trying to catch up on this thread over the past few weeks in preparation for the trial. I may have missed it but I thought Tiffany went to the house alone??? In the opening statements they are saying Zack was with her??

They both smoked off the same cig -- one didn't just hand it to the other. Nervous.

Plugged a small pair of earbuds into my laptop and could hear fine. Fascinating to watch, and so much better than relying on what the media decides is worth reporting. JustMe is a far better reporter than any working in the Toledo market. A couple of interesting notes (at least interesting to me): The word is that Lisa and Johnny had been using Oxycontin, but what was prevalent in their systems was Percocet. Let this be a warning to all you aspiring drug addicts out there...you never know what you're buying. Man...if you can't trust your dealer, who can you trust? Also, earlier posts mentioned Lisa being in her room to change from her work clothes, shower, etc. I was told by someone who viewed the photos of the bodies that it appeared that Lisa was still wearing her work uniform. Not sure whether that's important but since some have posted about it I thought I'd share.

I couldn't make heads or tails out of that photo of Johnny. I guess the dark spot was the wallet.
And to Mustang, I've always read it was percocets. Way, way, way back some member told the story of percocets and Zach.

They did say that Johnny most likely died first. I thought I reread my post but I missed that. A thousand apologies. Hope that doesn't mess up my credibility!!! They don't seem to actually know for sure. Liver temps, for instance, can ballpark it but are not that accurate for determining differences of say minutes. They died around the same time, pretty much, I think is what we can conclude.

One could reasonably assume that. I was just extrapolating from what Pettaway's lawyer proposed. The more important point is that W's and P's DNA was not on the bodies or the instruments of murder - the bags and duct tape. Somebody else's was and that's a huge problem.

I guess to watch the video you have to have a REAL computer with nice speakers and at least a 17" monitor!!!!!!!!

AW & CW At one point I looked them both up on the court website and facebook. Both were in discovery. But seeing as they are mentioned in the defense's opening argument, they probably mean nothing. Seems that the defense is going to go back and try and throw out all the investigative leads that went nowhere. And attempt to use that as reasonable doubt. |
