Alcoholism is considered a disease too and often causes depression. So if an alcoholic offs himself because he's depressed and leaves his children and wife behind that wouldn't be considered selfish?

If you follow the mental health profession's standards for disease.

It's about a child that went missing that they thought had committed suicide. Maybe you think that people who get cancer are selfish too? Maybe that's why you never gave tribute to Lady Cop like the other members when she died? It was her fault getting sick. The thing is she constantly whines about how nasty and mean everyone is and fails to realize she's the one who usually initiates it. She's not even able to have a normal discussion without freaking out like a queer with tosillitis on Valentines day.

That's not how it works and it's much more involved than that and difficult to explain in a forum.

Has life not worked out for you? Are you a pretender in the suburbs? I don't know what it is. I have pointed out your low self esteem issues before. As for F2 she always joins in when there is a group going for it. No surprises there.

Funny you mention these 2 particular women together. A year ago or so I believe I was enjoying the two of them in a Mock Fantasy Three-Way. There's definitely chemistry there (though they'll deny it).

People who make a decision such as self harm attempts or suicide are not in a safe healthy place mentally. Depression and other forms of mental illness can happen to anyone, it does not discriminate. I agree with some of what you've posted in this thread, but don't see suicide in as black and white of terms as do you. For example, the nurse who killed herself in the wake of the royal hoax incident had a husband and a child. You intimated that temporary public humiliation and a career set back caused her such deep depression that she chose to escape permanently by committing suicide. If those were truly the only contributing factors, then she was pretty damned selfish in choosing to leave her husband and child with a lifetime of pain, which they can't escape. I think it's quite possible that the hoax fall-out simply aggravated existing mental health issues; she may have been one of those whose depression and mental/emotional imbalance leads them to believe that everyone around them would be better off without them (which is skewed, but not selfish, imo). Anyway, the human mind and emotions are complex and there's more than one reason why different people choose to commit suicide; some may indeed be selfish and some not. I'd be surprised if educational texts claim any differently. JMO... P.s. I too am relieved that the boy in the OP was located. Luckily, he doesn't have the mental health issue known as "suicide" so he's alive to get treatment and hopefully he can be helped.

HotD, have you ever thought of a second career in mediation? You'd rock it!

Lots of quibbling siblings with very different ideas about what's best for their elderly parents. Not the best part of the job, but you learn to get good at, by default. Survival instinct.

Alcoholics (even the functioning ones) eventually lose their jobs, relationships, homes, health etc... the only thing I ever lost was my car once and I found it the next day so it wasn't a biggie.

I have friends who work in that industry who do not carry on with all the nonsense you carry on with. One of them has a Masters Degree in Engineering. As for your taxes, your taxes don't pay shit. You said you don't even pay tax so shove it up your arse.
