Me too. Ethan's case always makes me so sad and pissed off at the same time.
I don't know why it bothers me so much that his killer mother is now expressing remorse and claiming responsibility. Usually, that's what I want from someone like her -- to acknowledge her evilness and suffer from the guilt.
I don't want to admit it, but maybe it bothers me so much because deep down I really wish she was dead and unable to speak at all. I don't usually feel that way, but Ethan's case specifically affects me pretty deeply -- every time I read or think about it; every time I see his photo.

There's a revolting murder case playing out in the Twin Cities right now.
A Liberian immigrant, Pierre Collins, is accused of murdering his 10 year old son Barway, for, you guessed it, insurance money.
Poor little guy was murdered and thrown in the Mississippi River about a month ago. Missing for 3+ weeks, a group of Boy Scouts discovered his body last week in the river.
Turns out Pierre had upped the coverage on Barway just 2 days before he went missing.
This guy is as guilty as they come.
There really is no punishment that could possibly fit the crime of murdering your own child for money.

The dad had a $30K insurance policy out on his son, and two days before his disappearance tried to get it upped to $50k.
Pierre Collins had been ordered earlier in the day (of the disappearance) to GET A JOB, and start paying $600/mo. in child support to his ex-wife and their 4 children. He has a new wife and two small children as well (plus Barway, the murdered 10 year old).
He's been without work for years and apparently has also mastered collecting insurance settlements (which are fraudulent, the authorities are discovering).
MN doesn't have the death penalty, so I hope this guy goes straight into general population and gets what's coming to him.

Sounds like a real prince.
Why do so many immigrants end up in Minneapolis anyway? Seems to me that might be the last place any of them would choose to go!

In the mid-80's we welcomed Vietnamese refugees and Hmong.
Early 90's it was the Somalis.
I just know our state government loves to take all these folks in.

I'm surprised in the 90's they didn't take in the Bosnians. They got relocated everywhere it seemed.
Do they have job programs for them? Or are they just bringing them in to stem population numbers?
