I'm pretty sure that's what we're talking about here. Mostly. But I am puzzled at Biden's choice to cut and run, given how much lip service it pays to gender equity and the like, especially as that part of the world has almost none. If we had somehow managed to turn the corner, it could have eventually spilled over into places like Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, and many other places that still have one foot in the dark ages. And I think the world would be vastly improved if that had happened.

There is a shit ton of American media doing their damndest to make average Americans feel bad for leaving Afghanistan. Why are they doing that?! It's hard to express just how fucking insulting it is. I'm sorry for the people there, especially the women, but I truly don't feel that they are our responsibility.

the fact is - Afghanistan's military was not trained, and wasn't given state of the art equipment; that is why it was left and not destroyed.

I don't get why the equipment wasn't destroyed. The only thing I can think of is the current administration actually believed the government there. And that is a far fetched guess. Military commanders have been saying they were not serious about standing up to the Taliban for years. After so many years of occupation they may just want some type of something . Anything that resembles a stable environment good or bad.
