I love my country, but I haven't felt like America is the greatest country in the world for many years and government forced pregnancies only reinforces that. We are a backwards nation.

My governor and those in a couple of surrounding states have come out and publicly offered women a safe place to access the healthcare they need when they can't get it at home. Good for them.

All the Supreme court did was return the ability of each state to write their own abortion law and taking that decision out of federal hands. It is the right thing to do and I wish the feds would give states back more. If people have a beef now they should write their congressman.

The day before this decision was made by the court they said states didn't have the right to regulate their own fucking gun laws. Give me a break. States only have some rights according to the supreme court justices who lied under oath in order to get their job.

Why would they travel "secretly" ? And every state has abortion laws, some states allow it right up until birth I believe all states allow it up until 9-10 weeks. Should welfare pay for abortions?

The supreme court does not say you can kill a baby with a gun. Some nut cases do and some D.A,s set free many who do. Or just say they are nutcases and they go to a nut house. But the court does not say "Go forth and kill babies"

They took away a state's right to make their own laws and requirements when it comes to gun ownership and the following day they took away a right that women have had for 50 years. There are many states out there whose only requirement for gun ownership is the ability to pay for the gun. They know what's it's like out there, they are not oblivious and they are allowing more of the same.

There is an Article in the Constitution that establishes federal law takes precedence over state law and even a state's Constitution, and that's exactly what they did to New York. The Constitution even declares that federal law is the supreme law.

I don't know what the answer is, but the Supreme Court has a tremendous amount of power with zero oversight and no ethics rules. I view that as a problem, a serious problem and I don't ever see people talking about that. I think we live in the most lackadaisical land in all the world.

Constitutionally it is the right thing, morally it may not be but partial birth abortion is wrong and some states have adopted that procedure as the right thing to do. That I feel is wrong. Just as some states have moved in one direction so has other states moved in the opposite this may clarify that.

Abortion was not legal in the United States until 1973.

If Roe is overturned it will hurt the women who need it most, poor women without resources. Other women with a couple of dimes to rub together will find a way to get it done. That's a general statement, not at all meant to encompass every woman.

I don't want to get offtrack in this thread, but it is incredibly ironic, as politics is wont to be, that Texans care a lot about unborn children, this new law is proof of that, but kids having to mask up to protect themselves and others is a bridge too far.

abortion was legal in the US prior to 1973; that is a fact.

again, the fact is in New York, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii abortion was legal upon request.

the states will once again be allowed to decide for them selves whether the citizens want abortions to be legal. do you honestly believe New York, California, Washington, Illinois will out law abortion?

you see, Roe decreed that abortion is legal every where. that is not how our government works. 

the truth is we do not have three coequal branches of government; the judicial branch has no enforcement power.

the states (who created the federal government and enumerated it's just powers) have the right to tell the court to fuck off.

now the real question is - if you were lied to about abortion, what else have you been lied to about? do you have the intellectual honesty to question your beliefs and seek real truth?

Do you really believe that they are done in a willy nilly manner? C'mon. There are always reasons that a wanted pregnancy could end in an abortion when the mother is months along. That's a horrible fact of life and it happens.
