I came into this thread looking for some ideas. I'm making a list.

Now I'm wondering how far out I can buy the meat--salami, prosciutto, what else, thinking, thinking, thinking.

I don't really like going into the market close to a holiday, damnit.

You know you can freeze all that stuff right?
The wax wrapped cheeses are good for months.
Vac sealed cured meats freeze and good for years.
Fruits need to be pretty fresh unless you use canned, that works pretty well.
Fig preserves, Apricot preserves, fresh Ripe pineapple all go well with Goat Cheese.
A little smoked Gouda, Extra Sharpe Cheddar, Swiss....all good selections.
I make my own sausage so I usually have several on hand..
Processed meats like Salami, Pepperoni, Braunsweiger all keep in the frigde a long time...

No, I don't know that. I usually have to ask Sally or one of the others or take the time to look it up. 

I get what I think is a fun idea and then I get stressed out of my mind trying to make it happen.

I made a kick ass shark coochie board for Thanksgiving.   It went over like a wet noodle.   I did not make enough deviled eggs,  or shrimp cocktail. Wtf family,  since when do pepperoni and cheese need to be avoided?

I would have eaten the pepperoni and cheese by itself because I'm a fucking fatass, but most people can't handle even the mild spice of pepperoni. You need to add salami and some ritz crackers.

I had a bad dream where I was a woman. I had long red hair, grayish pale skin, I was naked, black eyes, black x's over my flat chest. I was also young and thin. It was a short bad dream. I looked in a mirror in the dream and then woke up.

Considering my crazy last girlfriend who broke up with me after a minor car accident  and was possibly trying to trick me into believing she was pregnant with my child even though we never had sex just so I'd marry her, I'd say you're post is eerily accurate.
