IF I were a politician I’d hope that I’d place the country and the constitution above my party and certainly above my own political ambitions. I’m not a politician; I’m a voter (Independent). If the Democratic Party was putting forth a nominee that had all of Trump’s defects (too numerous to list), I’d vote for the Republican nominee no question (given I feel like my vote would be wasted on any 3rd party candidate at this point). I haven’t “built” either party. Both parties are imperfect but the Republican Party has lost its fucking mind (those that remain Trump loyalists). The Democrats aren’t trying to elect an election denying, fascist, racist, convicted felon who’s a complete loon right now, ok? Low bar but they’re at least meeting that. Commando Cunt Queen

Trump is going to be mad, big mad, when he sees the size of the crowd that came to listen to the VP. Ooohhh boy. I can hardly wait.

If you're sufficiently happy with the two-party system that you see no need to help build something better then quit whining about Trump, because he is a product of it. It isn't the Republicans' fault, it's the fault of everyone that has chosen to accept the status quo. The masks have been taken off and what you're seeing is the unvarnished truth of who and what we are, and it's ugly. The only significant difference between Trump and the establishment politicians is he doesn't hide his ugliness, and that offends the sensibilities of those who see the world through rose-colored glasses. The end result is massive, unending waves of cognitive dissonance. If you still don't think our politics is a rigged system consider this: were it not for the free publicity Trump has gotten over the last 8 years, his appeal would have waned. It's the constant attacks on his person that have made him a larger-than-life figure. The more he's attacked, the bigger he gets. The media turned him into a juggernaut, and now they've become hesitant about endorsing his opponent. It's almost like they poured gasoline on a dumpster fire and now they're breaking out the marshmallows and weenies.

I’ve said MANY times I’m not happy with the two party system but it would take massive campaign finance reform and pretty much an uprising to change it which I don’t see happening. I’m dealing with reality but if we ever got a viable, electable 3rd party candidate that deserved my vote? I’d be all over that. I don’t recall the name but there was a group that talked about putting forth a 3rd party candidate (Manchin and Huntsman were named as being interested). It fizzled.
While Trump might be partially a product of media attention, I don’t think that comes CLOSE to explaining his popularity (except among idiots). He’s not just like any other politician (“unmasked”). If u can’t understand that, ur not paying near the attention that u pretend to be. Commando Cunt Queen

We're a nation of consumers. That's are national identity, and that's how we're treated. We're not thinkers, we're not trailblazers, we're consumers, and our primary concern is consumption. The ONLY reason you think Trump is more vile than Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr., or Bush Jr. is because of the media coverage he gets. If any of those other presidents got the same treatment you would not think that Trump is the worst of the worst. Period. I know the skeletons those men had/have in their closets. What I'm saying is not arguable. It's true that Trump is perfectly capable of what those men did, but he did NOT do what they did. Ignorance is common currency in America. If you think that only holds true for demographics you find objectionable you should consider taking a long and hard look in a mirror. You're no less duped than anyone else in this nation. If you'd like to find out how easy it is to dupe people go to a university library and read some advertising and public relations journals. The language used is perfectly unambiguous. Or stick with what's familiar and keep blaming people that don't vote the way you think they should. And hope for the best.

He was convicted of felonies. He disputed the results of an election and tried to overturn the results of the election (and still denies it was legitimate). He tried to strong arm election officials in several states to change election results. And he was the first president in centuries not to acquiesce to the peaceful transfer of power. He was impeached…was it 2 or 3 times? I lost count. He wanted to get the military involved during domestic protests/riots (above and beyond the national guard). And that was him SEMI RESTRAINED by those around him. Ur fucking nuts. No historian looking back at U.S. history would say Nixon or either Bush were as criminal or dictatorial as he certainly wants to be. Ur just wrong. Or stupid. Ur definitely not well informed on him in comparison to prior presidents. You’ve lost any credibility I might have given u earlier on. So, fuck off and goodnight. Commando Cunt Queen

You're an ignorant consumer who thinks you're intelligent because you keep up with the latest propaganda. There is history and there is history. You wouldn't know legit history if it was a bear that ripped your face off because you don't know enough to question what you're told. If you want truth you have to search for it and that would consume significant amounts of time that you could invest in maintaining the consumerist lifestyle. So you accept the lie that truth emanates from televisions and newspapers. Info and truth are not one and the same but that's a pointless distinction from the perspective of a consumer. Truth doesn't come cheap, prepackaged info does, and it comes in all sorts of yummy flavors that are guaranteed to satisfy each and every American connoisseur. Anyone who doesn't appreciate the wonderful simplicity of this "democratic" mechanism for disseminating information has to be an idiot, and probably a threat to the American way of life. Nixon and Kissinger murdered approximately 1.5 million people in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. "Bomb everything that moves with everything we have". At the end our bombers were dumping their payloads on empty fields because there was nothing left to bomb. They kept bombing because there were quotas that had to be met. The North Vietnamese army only came out at night, they didn't give a shit if we bombed or didn't bomb. What did America get out of this debacle? The Bretton Woods System collapsed because we no longer had the ability to convert dollars into gold, thus beginning our long transition to becoming a debtor nation. Then you have the soldiers who died and were psychologically broken, and the families that were left trying to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, with minimal help from the government that was responsible for their suffering -- made all the worse because it was pointless. To this day Vietnamese are still being blown up by US landmines because we refused to give them the maps of our minefields. Only a few here and there, but it's a lingering testament to the depravity of those two monsters. Trump doesn't get anywhere close to that kind of evil. Ask me nicely and I'll give you the deets on those other fine gentleman -- then we can cover the elder statesmen on the other side of the aisle. It'll be big fun.

Oh yes he does, and if he wins this election he will show you exactly how far he will go because there is no one left to stop him, even the Supreme Court has given him immunity which he will take full advantage of. Don't kid yourself, rothschild.

RC, I don’t disagree that the U.S. has participated in unnecessary wars abroad and been a part of (if not a leader in) some atrocities committed against people in other countries.
If Trump has his way, those who protest the treatment of Palestinians could face the military (and maybe get shot in the legs for good measure). He’s already made it clear he doesn’t like the “negativity” of ads and commentary about him in the media. He’s saying he’ll send troops into cities (like SF) to address what he sees as rampant crime (whether the state or local government wants that or not). He’s specifically said he would like to go after “the enemy within” and named Pelosi and Kinzinger as examples. He’s denied the last election and already claim he’ll only lose this one if there’s cheating. He’s referred to Jan 6th as a happy day and promised to pardon those “patriots”. And the list goes on. I draw some distinctions between foreign and domestic policies. He’s bringing war onto U.S. soil. Fuck, I imagine if he had his druthers in a couple years I couldn’t even type a post like this (wouldn’t fly in Russia). It is different. Don’t be obtuse. Commando Cunt Queen

He hasn't killed 1.5 million people -- yet. Biden, on the other hand, has hands that are indelibly stained with the blood of thousands of murdered innocents. There's no question that he will be joining Bibi in hell in the very near future, as will many others in his administration; but worry not, trump will get there, too, along with all of his pals and cronies.

Pence wasn’t the same as Trump (even if it took him forever to make a public break from Trump, he didn’t succumb to the pressure Trump put on him when it came to certifying the election and who knows how many policy disagreements he had with Trump while serving as his VP?). Harris is her own person and it remains to be seen what she’ll do with BiBi. Commando Cunt Queen
