Yes, I'm sure we do have military all over the world but we aren't at war (at least overtly) in those other places. I too agree that government is a different entity than the military (until you get to the very top) but the Commander in Chief and the government largely decide where we're willing to fight.

Even if we were in Iraq for oil or to bring some stability to the region or to have a foothold next to Iran--that doesn't make it a wrong reason to be there or an unjust war. I trust that we wouldn't go in to something like that without a damn good reason--even if that reason might make some people squeamish.

Honestly, there is more rebuilding in Iraq right now than war. The war in Iraq has petered out. Only the crazy terroristic bombing fucks are keeping it going in spurts. The real war is in Afghanistan. Helmand province is ground zero now. Kandahar is dangerous now, too. Coalition forces have had more casualties this year than any other year in Afghanistan. In fact, we lost a boy yesterday from the II Marine Expitionary Force. Britian lost a boy today in Helmand province. They still have the French hostages in Afghanistan. The Taliban isn't a joke. They need not to exist.

You know if you made any sense you would be dangerous to yourself and others, Afghanistan and Iraq are both classrooms for our very young military, they were designed to teach our boys how to fight in urban as well as desert areas, the only problem is that the instructors are idiots.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
John Adams
