It is so beautiful here and the people are really very cordial and I love the way they call you "Sweetie". I lived in TX for the past 10 years and liked the people there too, but I think NC has them beat in cordiality. I am a native Michigander so am used to nice Midwesterners. Beats the grumps in some areas of the country.
So, your Mom was a native NCarolinan? I'll bet she was soft spoken and good natured.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome. I think I'll like it here. I'm known to shoot from the hip, but am usually nice about it and rarely insult people without cause.
