Latoya's oldest daughter that was taken from her.. This story is so sad! Christian Jackson never had a chance poor baby :(
This is an old article I found about her first child that was taken from her due to abuse.
NASHUA, N.H. (AP) Police call the case of an infant girl found with more than a dozen broken bones ''extremely heart wrenching'' as they moved to prosecute the father.
Jose Meza, 25, was arraigned in court Friday morning, charged with three counts of first-degree assault. His bail was set at $100,000. Sgt. Andrew Lavoie said Meza injured the 3-month-old baby by shaking, twisting, pulling and squeezing her until her bones broke.
''The doctor who checked the child yesterday said it was the worst case of child abuse that he had seen,'' Sgt. Tim Goulden said.
The baby's mother, Latoya Jackson, 17, was charged with lying about the injuries, endangering the welfare of a child, and hindering the arrest of Meza.
''(She had) broken bones for several months,'' Lavoie said. ''One can only imagine how the baby feels.''
Police said the couple had driven their daughter to Mexico last month for treatment because they were worried about facing criminal charges. Meza is a Mexican citizen and his immigration status is unclear.
When Judge James Leary asked Meza if he wanted to make any arguments for lowering his bail, Meza said he wanted another chance to take care of the baby.
''Not only are you not going to get a chance to take care of the baby, you're not going to see the baby,'' Leary said.
Officials at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center notified police Wednesday night after the baby was taken there with multiple fractures to the legs, arms, ribs and collarbone. X-rays showed the baby had 17 broken bones in various stages of healing, according to police.
Police said Jackson told them that the baby was injured after falling off a bed and being dropped by a 4-year-old relative.
The infant is being treated at Children's Hospital in Boston, where she was listed in fair condition.
Records show the parents live at different addresses, but police said it appears the assaults occurred at the mother's home in Nashua.
Lavoie said there was no record of calls or complaints from neighbors.
Jackson's sister, Jennifer Dorval, said she doubted that Meza could be capable of committing such brutal crimes against his daughter, saying he was an attentive father who stayed by Jackson's side during the pregnancy and took care of their daughter immediately after her birth. She also refused to believe Jackson would allow the abuse to happen without telling anyone.
''She was always overprotective of her,'' Dorval said. ''She wouldn't even let anybody baby-sit the baby. The baby was always with her.''
The parents told police they brought their child to Mexico for medical treatment to avoid criminal charges here, according to Lavoie.
They were told that the baby had a broken arm and would need to be treated in the United States. When they returned, the couple did not seek medical treatment and the girl suffered additional injuries, Lavoie said.
