I will go on record saying NCLB screwed up education in this country. I'm not against all children succeeding, that's a good thing, I am against putting the little fuckers that can't behave and don't care in the same classroom as other kids. I'm also against the kids who have special needs being forced to take tests that are way beyond their range of abilities. That's not so good.
Bush did that shit. It was actually tacked on to a law started by Lyndon Johnson (the ESEA Act 1965, look it up) as part of his War on Poverty and was then renamed No Child Left Behind. So yes, you can really blame the Dems for this one. haha
Anyway, the Republicans are trying to get rid of this bullshit federal involvement in education, but Obama is blocking them and trying to INCREASE the Department of Education which interferes with states' right to decide what is best for their particular situation. If you hate NCLB, keep this in mind when you cast your vote.
