Catholic Church excommunicates 9yr old rape victim and Mom in Brazil

I suppose this is consistent with their policy of protecting priests who molest children. I'm a little concerned though that it isn't consistent with the hearsay that old churches being torn down often found to have babies stashed in the walls.

Life is indeed precious but the life of a nine year old real person who is a victim of rape is more precious than any number of potential people she might be incubating. They have no right to force their philosophy even on the faithful. It is wrong, evil even, to ask a nine year old to die because of philosophy.
