The "pusher" is a mentally ill street vendor from Rockefeller Ctr.. Approx. 100 people were running and screaming trying to get the train operator's attn.
Trust me - after being in same spot 24 hrs. earlier, those operators care about nothing but schedule. They literally stop at the platform, put thier upper body out of their door and look for any feet in doors. No feet seen and WHOOSH - that fucking train goes. Me and 3 of my family members who are noobs to the subway ended up on the lap of NY strangers every time. They kept looking at us like "fucking rookie".
The freelance photog. was supposedly trying to flash his camera to get his attn. also but, I find it amazing that he was able to catch this fucking 'perfect' photo of the guy 20 secs. before he got creamed by the train.
I have no problem really w/ NYT running it but, gawddam put that shit on the 2nd page or something so, his family doesn't have to be bombarded with it while walking down the street.
