revolutionary war myths

I'm not gonna try to read that mess, CN. I read your last paragraph inside the bottom of the quote box.

I gave you my honest answers, as you solicited. I didn't research or try to refute the facts listed in your source, so you got what I was taught and what I believe in a quick response. I don't think there's a point to any further investment on my part.

America won its independence from the British - many of us are grateful for those who sacrificed their lives to make that possible (that includes French fatalities as well). Why anyone would suggest that patriotism is a negative quality, beats the shit outta me. But, a couple of you here seem to have a problem with it and I think it's just that - your problem and not really a concern.

I have no idea who or how the "myths" in the article were qualified as ones that all Americans believe to be historical fact. I can't say that no Americans believe them to be such. I can't say that most Americans believe them to be such. I can only tell you that this American didn't believe them to be historical facts in the first place.

I also never believed the myth, started right here on Mock and argued with great passion, that "Italy never had an empire" (even if the "Roman Empire" is removed from the equation, I know that to be a historically false statement). Maybe I just have a good myth sniffer-outter.

In the end, I think your perceptions of what qualifies as "fact" differ from mine; no sense in going round in circles with you about it.
