I had no idea what you were talking about because you used the wrong word. You meant a "detachable magazine". A magazine is what goes into a semi-automatic sidearm or into an assault stylelong rifle or carbine. A stripper clip (often just called clip for short) it a tiny little punched piece of metal that typically holds 3, 4, or 5 rounds and you snap the clip into the rifle and the rifle ejects it. This is the case with the M1 Garand and many rifles of that style during World War Two. Here is a stripper clip:
