Colorado Springs Shooting Victims

Police still don't know the motive behind last weekend's murders, but the shooter had a history of alcohol and substance abuse issues. His mother wrote about him in a book about her own alcoholism and described her son as "introverted and moody."

The killer posted a video shortly before his killing spree. In the video, he expressed anger about the fact that his father in California was part of an ultra Conservative Christian church which the killer felt was cult-like. Weird.

Anyway, today police released the identities of the three fatal victims; they don't believe the killer knew any of them.


^ Andrew Alan Myers, 35, was a divorced father of two and a decorated army vet who served three tours of duty in Iraq. He was on his bicycle on the sidewalk when he was shot to death.


^Jennifer Vasquez, 42, had developed an addiction to prescription pills and was working to pull her life together. She was working as a telemarketer while living at the sober house and had completed cosmetology school. She is grieved by her daughters, family, and friends. She was sitting on the porch of the sober house when she was shot to death.


^ Christy Galella, 34, had undergone gastric bypass, lost 280 poinds, and developed an addiction to pain pills. She was living at the sober house to get clean and move forward with her life. She is said to have heard her roommate, Jennifer Vasquez, scream from the porch and was shot to death when she opened the door.
