I've never seen one so dark coated. I have some that come around but their fur is a very light grey. They are a very docile creature although their teeth belie that. They have a truly hideous smile.

I'm kind of a possum fan, they're pretty cool little animals. An interesting fact:

Ostfeld said that one opossum can kill and eat some 5,000 ticks in a single season. While they can't get them all and certainly get bitten by a few, opossums will destroy some 90 percent of all the ticks they encounter.

They also *rarely* get rabies, their body temp is too low.
