I'm a hairdresser - during the 20 years behind my chair I can tell you that it is completely repulsive.
It's not only flaky skin but oily flaky skin. I quit 3 jobs in a barber shop because they allowed haircuts without washing the hair first.
Dandruff and oily hair combined cause your scissors to dull and believe me when I tell you, you cannot get that shit out of your comb no matter how hard you scrub it and no matter what disenfectant you use. I would thow the combs away even when those people did wash their hair.
There's a stink to it too.
Using a solution of water and white vinegar to rinse the hair after it's shampooed and before you condition it helps tremendously.
You put about a 1 part vinegar and 3 parts or 4 parts water and just keep that bottle in the bathroom and rinse it through each wash.
I would make an anonymous note of that vinegar trick and just leave it on his desk.
If it's psoriasis - he needs medication but the vinegar and water solution DOES help with that too.
