One HAS to be registered in order to vote, Maggot. It's impossible to vote otherwise. Given your belief that unregistered people were voting, can you give some examples of that happening, or is this just what you think happened?
That's only true to whatever extent the system is policed.
I vote in every election, (many times due to the poor choices I'm tempted not to, but I do) and yes I'm registered.
However, being registered doesn't guarantee accuracy.
As I just walk up to the table where the poll worker is and "tell them my address". Not my name, just the address. And they don't ask for my license or any form of identification. They look up the address and then ask are you Mr. XX
and I say yes, and I'm off to the voting booth! Not really a true validation!
So it's possible where anyone can randomly pick an address and then the poll worker looks it up and they ask are you Mr.XX, if the real person living at that address hasn't voted, the fraud gets to vote!
If they did, the fraud just says oops, sorry I'm getting absentminded.
