When I visited Australia customs asked if I had a criminal record , I said why is that still required?

Yes. Usually they know before, but it is best that you tell them so that they can give you entry, if you lie to them, you aint going nowhere. That's the system.

It's required because we have enough of our own problems, we don't want criminals coming in here doing bad things.
