Hi Aussie, are you a repeat leaser?  If so, did you ever have problems turning in the other leased car(s) to get your security deposit back? I hear they check for dents, scratches, wear and tear, and the like, anything so they can keep your deposit.
Carsman, guess what happened? I was going to get another lease from these really upmarket dealers. They ripped me off. They asked me to give them $200 to hold the car, and it did not come off the balance as I was going to lease it. So then over the weekend I thought about it, and decided not to go ahead with it. I could feel it wasn't right. These guys quickly turned nasty when I asked for my $200 back. Not returning phone calls, the Sales manager was like an abusive misogynist, and hung up on me. I got onto the general manager and he was horrible too, but asked for my bank account details and then didn't put the money in the account. I spoke to a lawyer that says I am in the right and he wants to send a letter of demand. But now I am so over it, I'm thinking I will just let it go and never deal with them again. They are called Performance Automobiles in Hobart, and they have 21 negative reviews. I didn't know that at the time of course. I don't like getting ripped off, and I don't also want to waste my energy chasing $200. I'm busy got other important stuff to do and it seems petty like Judge Judy amount.

Sorry to hear your confirmed misery that leasing causes. How much would the lawyer charge for the letter?
If it's only $100, then have him send it, at least you would get half your money back, and know the fact you won!
