This morning's reports from CNN:

- Bail for Ariel Castro was set at $2 million per case, for a total of $8 million, at his arraignment Thursday morning in Cleveland Municipal Court. In the four cases -- one case for each of the women, and one for the 6-year-old girl -- he was arraigned on a total of four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape. The state had asked for bail to be set at $5 million.

-- Castro made "premeditated, deliberate and depraved decisions to snatch three young ladies ... to be used in whatever self-gratifying, self-serving way he saw fit," assistant prosecutor Brian Murphy said Thursday morning during Castro's arraignment.

-- The case will be transferred to a Cuyahoga County court. The prosecutor's office for that county will handle the case, with a grand jury deciding on an indictment that could include additional counts, according to Victor Perez, chief assistant prosecutor for the city of Cleveland.

-- Knight still was at Cleveland's Metro Health Medical Center on Thursday morning, hospital spokeswoman Tina Shaerban-Arundel said. The spokeswoman has not said what Knight is being treated for, but did say that she "is in good condition." On Tuesday, the hospital said that it had released all three rescued women. Shaerban-Arundel said that the hospital stood by its Tuesday statement, but she did not elaborate.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The hospital confirms that Michelle Knight was released, but also confirms that she's still there. I wonder if she simply hasn't anywhere to go or just isn't ready to leave. Good to hear that she's at least physically in good condition.

At 10:00 PM EST Castro's daughter and another family member are going to be interviewed on CNN. His daughter looks so normal, I expected hillbilly devil spawn.

I caught some clips of the interviews with his daughters Arlene and Angie yesterday.

They did look normal and seem very outraged and apologetic for what their father did.

Ariel Castro reportedly beat their mother severely and enslaved her; she filed police reports and eventually took the children and left him (thankfully). He was not convicted because he didn't show up for some court appearances and the wife's lawyer missed one too, according to reports. Crazy.

This is the ex-wife (common law), who died last year. When I first glanced this photo today in the Daily Mail, I thought it was Michelle Knight.

Some updates/confirmation's from yesterday:

-Arlene Castro said that she and Gina DeJesus were walking home the day that Gina disappeared. Gina loaned Arlene money to call her mom to ask if Gina could spend the night. Arlene's mom said "no" and Ariel Castro picked up Arlene and drove her home. Gina didn't have enough money for the bus and kept walking. Then, he went back and offered Gina a ride home. That's when her nightmare started.

-LE confirmed that Ariel Castro got Amanda Berry in the car by telling her that his son worked at the same Burger King when he saw her on the street. He also lured Michelle Knight, walking on the street in the middle of the day, into his car somehow.

-It was confirmed by Amanda Berry yesterday that Ariel Castro is the father of her six year old daughter, Jocelyn, and that Michelle Knight delivered the baby at the house.

-Michelle Knight has told authorities that she was impregnated by Castro several times and that he starved and beat her to terminate her pregnancies. Whether or not he will/should be charged for the death of those fetuses/babies is being debated by the legal talking heads. LE has charged him only with kidnapping and rape, so far.
--------------------------------------------

I'm curious as to why the spokesperson at Wednesday's press conference said that he wasn't aware of any connections when a reporter asked if the suspect knew any of the victims or their families. It was already confirmed that Castro knew the DeJesus family by that time. Struck me as odd.

Also curious as to whether LE ever interviewed Ariel Castro in the missing person investigation, since his daughter was the last person known to interact with Gina DeJesus and Ariel already had a police record for being violent and abusive.

I was always under the impression that if one didn't show up for their court appearances an arrest warrant would be issued. I don't understand this at all & I'm disillusioned. Smiley_emoticons_slash

This is a really interesting piece about how Ariel Castro managed to avoid being convicted for domestic violence. It's frustrating how the system sometimes works; looks to me like he was good at manipulating it and diverting suspicion on to others.

The article also confirms that Castro was (un-'effin-believably, imo) never questioned in the disappearance of Gina DeJesus, even though his daughter, Arlene Castro, was the last person to see Gina (and Arlene had been picked up and driven away from Gina by Ariel Castro only minutes prior to Gina's disappearance). [Image: mad0251.gif]

Police suspected Arlene's stepfather, Colon, instead. They suspected him because of child abuse charges brought upon him by Ariel Castro. IDK if those charges were true or not, but Colon always claimed that Ariel Castro had set him up. No one believed him or checked into Ariel Castro.

Here's the piece:

I'd really like to see a premier plastic surgeon donate his/her services. She deserves a whole new start & I hope a surgeon would agree with me & help make it happen.

One of the women who spent a decade in captivity may need reconstructive surgery for injuries suffered at the hands of her accused attacker, CBS Cleveland affiliate WOIO-TV reports.

Michelle Knight's grandmother, Deborah Knight, confirmed the information, telling WOIO-TV Thursday: "When she was severely beaten, he had beat her so bad in the face, she has to have facial reconstruction, and she's lost hearing in one ear."

On Friday, WOIO-TV reports that Knight was released from MetroHealth Medical Center, according to the hospital.

In a statement posted to the hospital's Facebook and Twitter accounts Friday, the hospital said Knight was "in good spirits and would like the community to know that she is extremely grateful for the outpouring of flowers and gifts."

Records obtained by WOIO-TV show Knight also may have faced physical abuse before she was kidnapped.

Records show David Feckley was charged and convicted in the early 2000s of child endangerment, for breaking the arm of Knight's infant son. He served eight years in prison. But a rape charge was dropped when the alleged victim, Knight, couldn't be found. She went missing in 2002.

Knight wasn't seeing visitors Thursday, not even her family. On Wednesday, her mother, in from Naples, Fla., met with Knight briefly at the hospital. A relative said the meeting was strained, and Knight asked her mom to leave.

Meanwhile, the community is showing its love and concern for Knight, lighting up social media. Someone even offered her a place to stay. One woman stopped by Knight's grandmother's house Thursday morning with balloons and flowers.

"I wanted to let her know people are thinking about her," said Lindsey Perkins, a total stranger.

On Thursday evening, friends and concerned citizens hosted a "balloon release" to honor her escape.

That poor woman. Sounds like she's known nothing but abuse.

That is terribly sad. I sure hope whomever steps up to take her in showers her with all the love and happiness in the world. What's even sadder is she still has to endure more pain. My heart is seriously heavy for Michelle. I wish nothing but the best from here on out for all these ladies.

This story just sickens my heart. These Ladies are often in my thoughts and prayers. Their families are blessed to have them back. Not sure about all the "so called missed" opportunities to discover them. I heard a story on the news yesterday about two young men that remember the day Gina was taken, seeing Castro driving reckless, the young man did report it to the police back when Gina went missing, I just think if they had looked into that report and then discovered that Gina had been at Castro's daughters house prior to her disappearance, perhaps the police could have found the girls sooner. Very easy to say..hard to have done.....I just cannot imagine their horror...Many Blessings to all of the Ladies and their families.

LE denies receiving that report as well as reports from neighbors who say they made calls about Castro periodically throughout the years. I'm not sure what to believe there.

However, you'd think that since his daughter was the last one to see Gina, they would have looked closer at Castro. Maybe they did but it wasn't like he was a registered S.O. or anything.

I know it's necessary but after every tragedy, fingers start pointing. Who fucked up at the Boston Marathon? Benghazi? Truth is, it's an imperfect world and if we want to be safe all the time, we'd have to give up our rights and live in a police state (and it STILL wouldn't be safe all the time). Shit happens. I saw his two brothers interviewed, y'all wouldn't recognize them, they cleaned up! They are in hiding because of death threats.

Yah, I seen their interview too. They did clean up pretty well. I feel terrible for them if they had nothing to do with this horrific crime. I seriously doubt the death threats will stop eventhough they say they had nothing to do with it. People kill for less then that everyday. Hope I'm wrong.
