A video has emerged that appears to show one of the rebels in Syria cutting the heart and liver out of the dead body of a Syrian assad regime soldier.
The rebel then puts the heart towards his mouth and appears to prepare to take a bite out of it before the video cuts off.
The video has caused outrage along with the rebels and the assad regime accusing each other of using chemical weapons against each other in recent weeks.
Is it time to intervene? Who exactly are the good guys and bad guys in this clusterfuck?

It was probably time for someone to step in a long time ago but I don't want it to be us.

I don't want to get involved in a civil war there and I'm tired of hearing people like John McCain pushing for it.
If Assad started using chemical weapons on a large scale, I might reconsider.

My opinion hasn't changed since posting it in the "Syria" thread.
I don't think it's time to intervene because there's no clear solution and invading/occupying another country is not something that I'd like to see the US do at this time. This isn't a religious war or ethnic cleansing, it's a civil war with both sides fighting for power. IMO.
I don't think we should be arming rebels either. I'm not convinced that there isn't a lot of Islamic terrorist insurgence in the rebel army (some has already been proven/exposed, how much is unknown, and the same can be said for Assad's loyalist forces as well).
The loss of human lives is an 'effin heartbreaking mess and I am, however, supportive of the US, Europe, Qatar, Turkey, etc...providing assistance in terms of food and blankets.
P.s. Aussiefriend has opinions that differ from mine and some suggestions on how this matter of global concern should be handled. Perhaps she'll jump in here.

If they support the Assad regime maybe they should intervene. Imagine Russian and Chinese boots on the ground in Syria? holy shit! that would stir up a shitstorm and a half.
I would consider arming the rebels but that's as far as I would want to go. Some of the rebels are members of organisations with links to terrorist groups.

I'm still waiting for all that free oil from Iraq.

Golly . . . I wonder where all the Libyan oil ends up?
Maybe those oil consumers . . . errr . . . humanitarians . . . will help the poor Syrians struggling to shed the chains of oppression?

I'm all for letting them kill each other any way they see fit. They are the ones that have to live with it.

It's pure evil. I am not for turning a blind eye on any atrocious act like that that is committed on the planet, anywhere. One of the worst things I have ever heard. Truly appalling. What a monster. It doesn't help their cause.

You let them kill each other, then whoever wins you help build a new country with prejudice. They will be looking for help then. Just like Iraq and Iran we should have just let them kill each other.

I'm sorry they haven't used their stockpile of chemical weapons.
It would be over and done with, by now.
If George Clooney says we need to get involved (or any other hot male Hollywood "A" lister), then we go in.
Not a moment sooner.

They may just stop a street skirmish for filming, both sides might come out and smile for the camera. Cheap extras.
I can visualize the heathens spitting in their hands to wash their faces and lay the cowlicks down. Brushing their teeth with baking soda and their fingers for fame.
