They are the scariest thing ever, worse than the tornadoes that have gone by & worse than the hurricanes too. We had them last year, it must have been the end of June or very early July. I never want to do that again.

Yep. June 29th...same storm.

That happened on a Friday. We didn't have electricity at work until Wednesday.

Do you need a new stick to beat your dead horse with. WTF do you suppose everyone should do? I know, we can all move to CNs house. There is nowhere safer!!...I'd rather die in a Tornado.

Here's my new weather update, posted 5 minutes ago. NOTE where it says this kind of weather very rarely happens here, but I guess I should pack my shit and move anyways. You're the fucking idiot!!

Curtis Smith INC Weather
STORM UPDATE: The risk for our area has been officially upgraded to High! This is very rare (happening far less than once a year, for us).

The main concern is wind ... even if no tornadoes are spawned by these storms, we could see straight-line winds in excess of 70 miles per hour. While the risk is going up because of conditions in the environment making it more and more likely that we will see powerful storms, little else has changed ... I still believe the risk will start for us during the late afternoon and it will continue into the late night hours. In addition to very strong winds, hail, flash flooding, and tornadoes are all possibilities.

PLEASE STAY UPDATED TODAY AND BE SAFE!

I've been thinking about you FQ. I even went to the weather channel and tried to look at some Indiana weather cams. I'm a weather voyeur.

It's so strange to me that it can be 90 degrees there now and yet it might hail later.

Be safe. Do you have a basement?

FQ2, how's it going there?

Are your weather people dramatic about your weather? Mine are drama hags. Bitches. I'm trying not to tune into them, they are making me feel like I should bend over & kiss my ass goodbye.

I did until I moved last winter. Just a big box on a slab now...with a few fairly large, middle of the house closets.

It's miserable outside. The humidity sucks the breath right out of you.

They moved the time back farther now. The shit they're getting in Chicago right now is only moving 20mph and they said it's raining buckets. That will be here in the morning. Meanwhile, storms are popping up all over out of nowhere.

I might get the day off tomorrow, YAY!!

hah..yes, the world is coming to an end. The sun is shining now, no wind, no nothing. Just thick heavy humidity that would choak a camel.

I look forward to watching the first storms roll in. I might head back to my hometown and go to my sisters, she has a basement.

You east coasters will probably see it by tomorrow night.

A basement, fully finished with a bar and home theatre system, is de rigueur for my tornado experience.

FQ2 usually comes in very early every morning, she didn't do that today. *worried look*

The storms that rolled through here last night were pretty good ones. We were under a tornado warning twice. There were about a dozen small tornados linked to this storm system as it passed through Iowa, Wis & Ill. There was even 1 double tornado. It looks like it is moving pretty fast and could be out on the east coast today so keep a eye to the sky if you are over that way.

It's all over the news here. WARNING WARNING WARNING

I get that these warnings are needed in order to make people aware but why do they have to be so goddamn dramatic. They are scaring the crap out of people.

I agree Duch. They had my grandchildren so worked up that my daughter had to bring them to my house just so they felt safe.
One of the tornados that caused us to have a tornado warning actually touched down about 25 miles south east of us. It was windy and rainy here but nothing to bad.

If ya have a FB account you should be able to see this video. This is one of the tornado's that came through this area.

I kinda like the way some people will be scared out of their minds at times like that. While others can be outside taping it. It effects people in different ways.
Here is a video I took of the thunder and lightning after the storm had past. IDK if the audio will turn out but the thunder was a constant, non stoping rumble.

I would love to be one of those stormchasers in America, driving around hunting tornados would be so cool.

Me and two of my best mates drove from New York to Los Angeles over a three week period and we saw a tornado in the distance, forget which state we were in. Our van was battered by hailstones the size of golfballs and I have never heard thunder and lightning that loud before or since.
