the mom knew he had no license and had an alcohol problem, and 7 DUIs! yet let the kids go with him to the river. she's just as culpable.

i doubt he'll be arrested until tox report comes back. the driving on a suspended will be a minor charge in comparison if that child was impaired by alcohol.

I am just curious how everyone thinks his wife knew? I know someone who was with a convicted sex offender and never knew anything until recently when she had to testify.

Although having a DL in hand makes it easier what if she never saw it. He lost it before she met him.

I do however totally agree with the arrest. He should already be charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors etc as other children were there but it's easier to tack them on to the manslaughter charge if the tox report comes back positive.

I won't be shocked if more than alcohol shows up!

Being a friend or acquaintance of someone who is a [former] criminal is different than being married to an offender. Unless you are willfully ignorant you can't help but notice when they are drunk and physically or emotionally violent. Mom knew but decided that having a "man" was more important than protecting her kids from him. I'm with LC on this one, the mother is culpable in Chris' death.

I have been watching various old news reports that family are responding to other comments. My greatest intrigues are from Affton Patch. Yes, I too await whatever charges are still to come. Tox reports will only verify the greatest of charges but even with negative results there will still be others.
