Presidential race 2016
Huckabee and Walker slammed Obama about the Iran nuclear deal.

Walker says we shouldn't have negotiated with them in the first place. He'll undo the deal if elected and re-instate sanctions.

Huckabee says Obama gave away the farm, essentially, and that Iran is holding a gun to America's head with the past reported statements that Iran will blow Israel off the map and "death to Americans".

Rand Paul says he supports diplomacy and negotiation, however he'll vote against the deal because the negotiations were weak and sanctions shouldn't have been lifted until some compliance was verified.

HAHAHAhahaha...I can't help it. I love this shit!

Trump has my vote...so far.

He's definitely an entertaining guy. :hah:

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't vote for him for the entertainment value but no bullshit is high on my list.
IMO...Bush is done. I have no idea how he got to second place...I don't see anyone ever talking about him.

Rubio and Bush support de-funding Planned Parenthood. Bush de-funded PP in Florida.

They support a ban on all abortions at all stages, even in cases of rape and incest.

Rubio says fetus' are protected by the Constitution.

Trump used to be "very pro-choice", in his own words. He says he's evolved and now he's "pro-life".

Kasich supports traditional marriage, but honors the Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage and recently went to the gay wedding of a friend.

When asked, he said of course he'd love and support his own children if they were gay.

He wants everyone to be treated fairly and with respect while participating in the the American Dream, whether he agrees with them or not.

Rand Paul said about gay marriage: I don't want my marriage or my guns registered in Washington and the Supreme Court should not be inserting their opinions in rulings.

This ends HOTD's unsolicited debate recaps. hah

They're moving on to Foreign Policy and I'm moving on to dinner.

(I like taking notes for reference - Mock was my notebook tonight.)

Watched the entire debate last night.

Trump, (needs to tone down his brashness, he'd better) Christie, Rubio, my short list. In that order.
The rest, forget!

I had no idea God was involved in politics. If I had, I would have told him to butt the hell out. What's he trying to do, ruin his reputation? 78

He's not very compelling on the debate stage, IMO.

Aussie, I found another one for you. HotD is clearly using racial code words. Throwing the word 'accusing' around? Only a racist would say something like that about a black man.

Then she has the audacity to say he's not compelling. Of course you know what that really means, right aussie? She's really saying 'He's not very compelling FOR A BLACK MAN on the debate stage, IMO.'.

You're so right aussie, racism really is everywhere when you know what to look for.

There's so much about the Donald that I like. I have a great appreciation for those who tell it like it is even when it's stuff I don't like to hear. I like knowing where things stand. I can hardly believe I'm saying this but if I were to put a check mark next to all the candidates having the qualities I'm looking for, Donald would win by a large margin. I think he's a big asshole but I'm really lovin' his audacity. The election is still so far away and a lot of things can happen between now & then but this has been the most fun I've ever had watching & listening to everything that is going down.

I watched the final portion of the debate this morning.

The GOP, some more than others, caters to the religious right and invokes God as an excuse to limit freedoms (based on their personal spiritual beliefs and self-serving interpretations of Christian doctrine). They do it to such an extent that, as a rational person (especially a female person), it feels hypocritical voting for any Republican candidate. But, I've done it in the past and I might again. Lesser of two evils and all.

I like Rubio. I like his stand on immigration as compared to other GOP candidates, his energy, and the fact that he has some solid governmental experience at a young age... But, I hate his stand on abortion (which is the same stand across the GOP candidate pool). Still, he's a 'maybe' for me because I don't believe abortion should nor will be outlawed, nor that Rubio would be politically stupid enough to try to push for that. Plus, I won't mind if he and others in the GOP succeeds in getting a nationwide cut-off of 20 weeks placed upon abortions; under 1.5% of abortions happen past then anyway and I don't like late-term abortions either.

Ted Cruz, on the other hand, would probably be politically stupid enough to try to strip women of all rights to choose when it comes to abortion, and other topics. He's worse than Santorum, in my opinion, when it comes to using God (sincerely or not) to justify his suppressive views and is almost wholly reliant on ultra-religious donors. He's even too fundamentalist to play well with the rest of the GOP in many cases. Cruz is my least favorite candidate on almost every issue, and on a personal level too.

I like Kasich so far, a lot. I like his experience with federal budgeting, armed services, and I like what he's achieved for the state of Ohio. I also liked him on a personal level last night -- he didn't reek ("wreak", for aussie) of self-righteous condemnation towards people outside of his demographic and spiritual beliefs. And, he came across as someone who focuses on the issues and stands his ground without constantly resorting to bashing his opponents or invoking God at every turn. I could see him being an effective bi-partisan leader. I'm interested in learning more about his stances on all of the key issues.

I thought Christie and Jeb Bush did pretty well last night. Their experience shows when answering both soft and hard questions. I'm with Christie when it comes to anti-terrorism screening, and I like Bush better than most of the GOP candidates on education and immigration.

Though I'm sure the topics will be addressed in the first Democratic debate agenda, there were no questions about gun control, decriminalization of marijuana, or criminal justice reform in last night's GOP debate. Too bad for Paul -- he's at the top of my list on the latter two issues. I thought Paul performed kinda poorly last night.

Huckabee's "consumption tax" plan is kind of interesting. I'd like to hear more details. When he said that Obama is "trust and vilify (vilify his critics)" whereas Reagan was "trust and verify" in regards to nuclear negotiations, it seemed to resonate with a lot of the audience.

Carson is not experienced nor qualified enough to be President just because he's smart. I think that showed last night and he's probably out of the running.

Walker was kind of a non-factor in the debate, in my opinion. Nothing surprising, nothing memorable, no big mistakes. He's meh, for me.

And, Trump was Trump, he made me smile and nod a few times, and he had me rolling my eyes a few times.

For me, at this time, Rubio, Kasich, Christie and Bush are the Republican candidates of interest. I'm surprised Bush is on my list, but he is.

I've liked Christie for awhile, because he is in a neighboring state I see him way more than I see the others and again, for me, it's his tell it like it is attitude that I find attractive. Like you, I liked Rubio as well and as far as Bush goes I'm a little taken aback that I like him, I'm not sure if it's his politics or that I feel a little sorry for him, he's made some missteps recently and I have some sympathy for him, it can't be easy being another Bush on the campaign trail. I'm glad the election is far off at this point, I can't be liking people because I feel sorry for them. 78

Anybody else notice Cruz has an un-electable face? He just looks like a guy you can't trust, regardless of his ideals.

I noticed. He's weasel-like.

I don't suppose this matters in the game of politics but his personality sucks ass.

Bernie Sanders is getting up there like Trump is. I would consider the U.S. a socialist type government today so he's not far off. Its definitely an oligarchy like the peanut farmer said.

I think Rubio will do well although I like the idea of a flat tax that Rand Paul wants. I cannot see Bush winning. If he wins the nomination Sanders might have a better chance than Hillary.

It matters if people don't vote for you because of it.
