Presidential race 2016

I am not good at financial stuff at all, but I would think that there would have to be an adverse fall out from drastic measures.

I'm sure there would be fall out.

There are savings to be had from not having illegal immigrants in the country though. That's all I was pointing out.

"I am not good at financial stuff at all . . ."

Trust me . . . you didn't need to remind any member of this fact.

And yet, you keep flapping your gums.

Who said the deportation would be abrupt? Did Trump give a timeline?

The US hasn't the manpower or the resources to immediately herd 11 million people and shoo them out of the country.

I'd love to know what plan you would implement if faced with the sudden "rapture" of 11 million souls and the subsequent economic and employment void it would create.

Or would you just be paralyzed with fear and impotence?

BTW - Your understanding of the stock market is amazing!

And once again, your true, narrow-minded and elitist self shines through!

I'm glad you feel that way about Trump and his supporters.

With all the trash talk you spewed about Glenn Beck, I find it ironically appropriate that you are in complete lock step with him and his supporters regarding Trump!

I always thought the "dumb-dumb from down under" protested, about Beck, too much.

Oh happy day!

Dumbass is a Beck sympathizer!

His argument this morning on Andy Cooper CNN showed a live speech where he was talking about a war veteran who was raped, sodomised and murdered by an illegal immigrant was very persuasive. I can see his point. He further talked about China, very good negotiating skills he was demonstrating on how to do deals. Very persuasive.

Trump is fear mongering in a way that disturbingly resembles the Nazi rise to power in 1930. I hate to sound like THAT guy but the similarities are there, especially in his need to vilify and dehumanize a certain portion of the population and combine that with hysterical levels of patriotic fervor and egomaniac in Trump himself. I'm not trying to say that's the road we are on, simply that it is a common playbook for people who want to seize as much power as possible to capitalize on the people's fears and natural xenophobic tendencies. The man is a fool and with enough support and power he'd be a dangerous fool. He is literally demanding the right as an American to be a deliberate prick. And people are saying, "yeah I wanna be a prick too!" Jesus fucking Christ with this guy.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

Well . . . the German economy ( during that time period ) recovered way before America's . . . was that a bad thing?

I don't see the fear mongering.

Could you give examples as what is causing you to sleep with your light, on?

Sorry Tiki, I was mistaken in the other thread about Trump's stance on the 14th Amendment.

I thought he was looking to amend or repeal it so he could toss all those "anchor baby" citizens.

Anyhow, I saw that Anne Coulter was getting all riled up today and called Bill O'Reilly "so stupid" for challenging Trump's mass deportation policy, so I checked out last night's O'Reilly interview.

I now understand that Trump isn't looking to amend or abolish the 14th Amendment in order to deport American citizens born of illegal immigrants (as I'd incorrectly stated) -- it's worse than that. Instead, Trump contends that all those citizens are not REALLY citizens anyway, under the Constitution. And, he and his legal team are gonna prove it in court.

Trump is wrong, in more ways than one.

The "anchor baby" term is not Trump's, and the mass deportation strategy has been proposed and failed before.

I don't think Trump's twist on it will succeed either. We'll see.

Marco Rubio was himself what Trump would call an "anchor baby". He was born in the United States to two Cuban immigrants in 1971, but his parents didn't become citizens until 1975.

Rubio ^ is not among those who are trying to repeal or challenge the 14th Amendment. However, he says that he's open to policies that help prevent immigrants from coming here for the purpose of having children who will have automatic American birthright citizenship.

He would not be able to change the 14th amendment. That takes to much of a majority and politicians covet their votes during the election cycle like I hide my chocolate ice cream before grocery day.
What he could and should do if elected is just apply the laws already on the books unless Obama tries some craziness with his pen and phone before he gets off his throne.

I predict a newcomer getting elected, someone that's not even declared yet.

Also, just want to say, I am just an objective observer. I normally don't participate in other peoples politics. I don't have a vote.

I also had a thought today, if Mr. Trump has any skeletons and the Dems have the dirt, they will choose the time to reveal it when it is most advantageous to them. I hope he doesn't 'frock up' like Clang.

The election is still a long way off, over a year. I just don't see the Donald getting the Republican nomination. If I have to come back and eat crow, so be it. I don't have a problem saying I'm wrong. I'm one of the people who have given him attention, I watch his interviews and I listen to what he has to say but I would never seriously consider him for the POTUS.

I don't think he will either. He will go independent when he doesn't get the nom.

Not so fast, user . . .

New poll conducted in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania show Biden beating Trump . . . and Biden ain't even in the race.

Results were inconclusive regarding unannounced candidate Sponge Bob.

I like Joe Biden, he's beloved in my state. I think he makes a wonderful VP but he's another one that I don't see as POTUS. I hope he doesn't run, I'd rather see him as the beloved elder statesman and I think he risks losing that if he throws his hat into the ring.

He's a very personable guy, he's approachable and I've yet to see anyone around here refer to him as Mr. Biden, it's always Joe. Before he became the VP he was riding Amtrak into DC most days and talking to all he encountered along the way. He has a genuine way about him when it comes to the working class.

Well here I am, listening to the Donald again. He wants to rebuild our military, make it great. He is sounding significantly more obnoxious as time goes on.

This is so true what you are saying. One thing that was pointed out to us in sociology as an undergrad is that society has a "ruling class". Now is he part of that "ruling class"? I think that it comes down to families as well. I think that they will go with the Bush Family.

Even if I did have a vote, which I don't, being kind and a good hearted person goes a long way with me. I think he is mean, unkind, and hates women unless they are bimbos. That's what I think of the man. Not to say he is all bad, some of the ideas he comes up with are good in theory. I don't know if they would work or not. For people to vote for him would be a gamble. The Bush Family have political experience and appear to know what they are doing within that realm.

It could happen.

An Independent has declared his candidacy and he's already polling third behind Clinton and Trump in some states.

^ DEEZ NUTS for President!!!

DEEZ NUTZ has just posted his platform, some of which sounds better than a lot of the other candidates' plans to me.

He has been identified as 15-year-old Brady Olson from Emmet County, Iowa.
