I've taken my kids to sports bars where they serve food and the Iron Horse during bike week. They have games there that are specifically for kids so I'm not the only one to bring them. I've taken them to seafood festivals, music festivals ect... and every one was drinking alcohol, I don't see the difference with a pot festival.

I think there is a difference in bars, there are those like the ones you have described and then there are the ones that aren't. Hahaha. C'mon! You know what I mean, don't you?

There are places where it is inappropriate to bring children. A Hemp Fest is such a place.

Well done ramsey. I thought for sure you were going to mangle that sentence and call it Hump Fest.
Which of course would also be inappropriate.

Yes I know what you mean, I wouldn't take my kids to a strip joint or a seedy bum bar.
But, I still don't see the difference between a hemp festival or any other one where alcohol is served. They have a Greek festival here at the Orthodox church and everyone is drunk off their ass on Ouzo and Stella Artois. Same thing at the Prince of Peace church for October fest. Why is that ok and at a church of all places, but not a hemp fest?
I guess I don't see it as a big deal because I never hid from my kids that my husband smokes pot and it's never been an issue. I'm not one of those freak parents that lock themselves and their company up in the bedroom and guard the door just to smoke a joint.

I've seen that happen so much! On occasion I have laughingly said "do you think they don't smell it".
I think alcohol is much more detrimental to society than weed but I wouldn't smoke pot around little kids, that's just my personal preference, it makes me uncomfortable, I wouldn't get shitfaced around kids either but I am aware that it goes on a lot. I'm often told that had I raised a bunch of kids I would feel differently about some of this stuff, maybe so.

I wouldn't get shit faced around my kids either, but I don't see my husband smoking a joint out on the porch any different from me having a glass of wine or beer. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna lock myself up in the bathroom like a crack head to do it.
