:(   I haven’t heard that.

But, I was afraid that one or more of his four girls was among the four other (still unidentified) passengers.  Very sad.

The Grammy Awards are on tonight. Lots of the NBA players in California are tight with big names in the music biz  Betting there will be a number of tributes paid to Kobe tonight. Kobe joined the NBA at just 17  and played for L.A. for 20 years.

I looked him up on Wiki, he just had another child last year with his wife. How sad is that? That funeral, people are going to be inconsolable.

I've been reading that many of the reporters out there are having a very hard time reporting this story. It's obvious he is beloved .

A guy I know was the bartender at the hotel he was staying in where that girl accused him of rape, she was a co-worker and he didn't believe her.

I'm an Aussie, I am just passing on what was on the morning news here. I don't really know him. So I just thought it was important to let you guys know. It's shocking, that's for sure. We don't have the basketball here like you do over there. We do have it, but Australian Football is the big sport, as well as cricket. Different country, different culture. I hate all sport.

I wouldn't ever take what Big Mark says as serious.

Except when he is serious. (sometimes)

Yeah, it's even sadder as new details are confirmed.

Seems that there was another parent and daughter (along with the pilot, of course) in the copter on their way to basketball practice with Kobe and his daughter GiGi.

The L.A. Sheriff's Office is expected to hold a press conference in the next couple of hours.

Bad flying weather.

The Sheriff just announced that 9 people, not 5, were on board the copter.  All are deceased.

The sheriff confirmed that Kobe, GiGi, GiGi's friend, and the friend's parent were on board.

He won't confirm the identity of the other four deceased passengers until the coroner finishes at the scene and proper family notification(s) are given.  I hope the remaining four aren't Kobe's wife Vanessa and their three other daughters (though it's terribly sad no matter who else died).

Wow, that would be horrible.

Oh dear God. I hadn't heard about the remaining 4.

I just listened to a short interview of Jerry West. It was very sad. He talked a little about the 17 year old Kobe that he first met and what it's been like to watch him excel on the court and grow into the fine man he became. He said he feels like a father who has lost a son and he broke down  :(

This is going to sound horrible but I hope that is what happened. I hope they never knew what was coming. It's so much better than to think of them filled with terror knowing they were going to crash.

It’s been confirmed that along with Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter GiGi....the pilot, two of GiGi’s young friends/teammates and their parents (including the head baseball coach for Orange Coast College), and a female basketball coach were on board. RIP.

They were headed to Kobe’s Mamba Academy for a youth basketball tournament when the copter crashed into a hill and burst into flames.

The LAPD had grounded its own copters yesterday morning because it was deemed too dangerous to fly in the dense fog, so first responders had to hike some of the way to the crash site.

Actor Dan Haggerty died of spine cancer on January 15th at the age of 74.  He was surrounded by family and friends.

Haggerty was best known for his portrayal of Grizzly Adams.  I really liked that show as a kid.

He is described as much like the character he portrayed and someone with a great sense of humor who made everyone laugh.

Rest in peace.

I haven't thought of that guy in years, RIP he would run around scaring the crap out of people with that bear of his.

People who make others laugh are my favorite kind of people.

Not having a sense of humor is a deal breaker for me. I would have zero interest in anyone who didn't have one.
