I'm not sure if your questions are rhetorical, but at the risk they're not, I'll take a swing at answering them.
First, selling off of organs would target the poor unfairly.
Second, A kidney, or a heart sell for what they do because of the knowledge and ability it took to get to the point it was harvested and then transplanted for you in your time of (desperate) need.

The best analogy I can come up with is the (quick, I promise) story of the car owner taking his sluggish running auto to a mechanic.
The mechanic pops the hood, looks around and tightens a single bolt. Once the hood is slammed shut and the engine cranks the car purrs like a kitten.

When presented with the bill of $100.00 the customer balks stating it only took the mechanic a few seconds to fix his car. When asked to explain why he was being charged so much the mechanic simply replied, "I charged you one dollar for tightening the bolt and charged you $99. for knowing which bolt to tighten".

They weren't really rhetorical. While I understand the analogy, I think it's just a way to try and justify overcharging people for stuff. I know a lot of people do that in the computer industry as well... but I don't. If it only takes me a short time to 'fix' someone's computer, I only charge them a little. If it takes a long time (especially if they're being a pain in the ass about it), I charge them considerably more.

When it comes to stuff like organ transplants, I'm sure there is a charge on your hospital bill for the organ itself. I doubt those laws about not being able to sell your own body parts, are there for the 'well being' of the people who would go that route. It's more likely in place so that the medical establishment can continue to charge huge sums of money for the organs they harvest.

Why should a person have to be an organ 'donor'? Why not get paid for organs harvested from a person's body? Shouldn't the family get money for that at least?
