This freak of nature pleaded guilty to distribution and possession of child pornography and solicitation to commit a crime of violence. He lives in Worcester, Mass (born in England).

Sentencing will be handed down on Monday. Prosecutors are asking for 27 years.

Glad he was busted for the crimes he committed before he was able to turn his fantasies into reality.

In court papers filed earlier this week it emerged that he used the alias Longpig – the cannibal name for human flesh – as he chatted online with other paedophiles.

One of his contacts was sex offender Ronald Brown, jailed for 20 years in Florida this month for plotting to kidnap youngsters through his local church.

He is said to have sent Portway a picture of a young boy with lines drawn on it to show how the body should be sliced into various cuts of meat.

The pair also discussed taking a child to a rented house in the Everglades, mutilating him, eating him, then feeding the “leftovers” to alligators.

Federal agents began investigating the pervert in 2012 after linking him to an internet chat room obsessed with cannibalism and child rape.

He would trade sick images and videos of youngsters being horrifically abused.

In one internet conversation the computer programmer talked about children he knew, identifying them as potential victims.

In a search of his home, investigators found handcuffs, rope intended for bondage, mouth gags, and castration tools. A large box of frozen raw chicken, near a handful of disposable scalpels, was photographed by investigators near two industrial-sized freezers. A child sized coffin was also found in the basement.

In the kitchen, a jug of bleach was seen by the doorway, while a red child-sized "onesie" lay on the countertop, amid snacks and disposable syringes. A butcher kit containing plastic gloves, multiple knives and other items was photographed in the sink.

Maybe by only sharing them with like-minded people. Sometimes they get caught, as we've seen here, but many, many others don't. Hoping prosecutors get the 27 years they're requesting at Tuesday's hearing (with no early release possibilities tied to the sentence).

A life sentence would be better, but at least Portway will be almost 70 years old when he gets out.

There's no evidence that he ever did, but plenty of evidence that he "intended to", according to his online chats with other pedophiles and evidence submitted by prosecutors.

He also possessed a shitload of child porn and pictures of children being tortured, which is what he pleaded guilty to.

Portway will be sentenced today. He and his attorney think 27 years in prison is too harsh. They think 18 years is more fair. Why so little? Because, of course, he is a victim.

His parents divorced when he was young, and Portman realized he was gay when he was 8 years old but was afraid to reveal it because his father was homophobic, the evaluating psychologist Dr. Eric L. Brown, wrote. Around the same time, according to the evaluation, he became increasingly fascinated with children's tales such as "Hansel and Gretel," in which two children are caged and fattened up so that a witch can eat them.

Portway had a "wish to be eaten" that "fulfilled a more basic desire to be wanted, valued, and incorporated by another person," wrote Dr. Brown.

Portway wasn't arrested because of his fantasies and his desire to be eaten. He was arrested because he engaged in illegal child-porn activity and collaborated with convicted pedophiles regarding torturing, killing, and eating children IRL.

27 years is not long enough for this guy. Lots of creepy old pervs out there who are re-offending in their golden years, and those probation visits after prison release can't stop them, as we often see.

Maybe visits by parole officers can minimize their opportunities to re-offend, but I don't think these guys can be stopped altogether unless they're caged and have no access to children.

WORCESTER - Child pornographer Geoffrey Portway, who asked a Kansas man to kidnap a child for him so he could torture, kill, cook, and eat the child in a sound-proof dungeon he built in his basement, today was sentenced to nearly 27 years in federal prison.

Portway, a 40-year-old citizen of the United Kingdom, was also ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution to five children he victimized as part of his participation in the dissemination of child pornography that included 5,700 documented times he shared images with others, according to court records.

After sentencing him to 27 years, Hillman also ordered Portway to serve his sentence in a US prison, register as a Level 3 sex offender, and face deportation at the end of his time behind bars.

Whenever he gets released, sure hope he really is deported back to the UK. In this case, passing the buck back doesn't bother me a bit.
