If the homeless get seated on the jury it's a good idea to have alternates in case some jurors become homeless, hapless and aimless.

It was so funny..you could hear his voice shaking. He was scared. I don't think he had any idead that the judge would be so pissed and fine him. what a dumb ass!

Good day to watch jury selection. Looks like they got past the hardships, and are on to the death penalty and media exposure. The individual up now is intelligent and well spoken. Hope he is a keeper. A man with a school-age daughter.

I'm watching right now too. This man seems like a keeper to me too, but what do I know about jury selection....nothing. It seems like this will take a very long time to interview each and every potential juror. The judge claimed yesterday or actually promised that they would be completely done with entire trial by July 1. How is that even going to be possible? I'm obviously not real familiar with the specific workings of preparing for trial. What do you think LC? How long will jury selection take? Or how long does it typically take? I assume they ask many, many moe questions in a death penalty case.

it's after 1100 and i just tuned in. i think i'm going to need to follow highlights of the day in the local media like WESH, and Orlando Sentinel et al.
i understand the defense has shown their hand already, the blame is on casey's evil abusive sexual molesting family. no surprise there. i also see they have a notorious "mitigation specialist" (not a lawyer) on board. a woman (the disgusting rosalie bolin) who left her husband and 4 kids to marry a rapist/serial killer on death row. this defense team has plumbed new depths of depravity. as for trial being over by July 1? i have serious doubts. it's clear bozo's "strategy" is delay delay delay. more comments as day goes on.

Is there any way to prove a negative? Too funny.

Who of us have not experienced all of those at one point in our life?
Have we driven a car around with our dead child in the trunk?

I am watching the CA trial online - CNN.com/live - and the coverage
is more extensive visually. Does anyone know who the lady in the red jacket who is sitting with Casey might be? If so, is she legal or a public relations handler? She is touchy feel-y towards CA. Judge has lovely cuff links.
05-12-2011, 01:11 PM
I had read the post, but for some reason did not think the lady would
be able to be that close to the 'team' in the court room. I am going to have to do some homework it appears. Not fully understanding a mitigation specialist's role, I did find this for anyone else who might not be familiar with the term. Safe link defining and explaining the necessity for such an individual in a death penalty case. http://www.deathpenaltyblog.com/mitigati...y-defense/

she should NOT be touching the inmate in custody, and that deputy should have smacked her down.
05-12-2011, 01:29 PM
While she shouldn't be touching her, on that I agree, it's part of the play book, it takes some of the scariness away from CA for people to see someone who is not afraid to touch her.
It's psychology 101, humanise the defendant. it will make the plea deal i think the judge is expecting much easier for the jury to deal with. from death to life or even homicide 2 with the possibility of parole after 30 years or some other diminished charge, based on the mitigating circumstances.

Is everyone frisked before going into the courtroom? The lady in red has
such a large flowing long skirt and jacket that something could be hidden underneath/in it's folds and passed to CA while sitting next to her. And she was sitting next to her with no one else around.
05-12-2011, 01:41 PM
Frisked? probably not, wanded/pass through a metal detector probably, this lady is more than likely recognised by the court as part of the defense team or as an expert witness, the court would not expect her/or her lawyers to violate the law by passing anything to her.
I will tell you though that CA is more than likely strip searched when she returns to her cell at the end of the day. she has to put her nice red jump suit back on at that time.

Wolf, did you know that you can go to your local jail and request to sit through a shift, or that you can request a ride along with your local PD, and go out on patrol with an officer?
sometimes it's pretty cool to witness how things are done in the LEO world.

I hope I never have to go to jail. Simply the thought alone is enough to keep me away from a life of crime. The ick factor is huge.

I would have been thrown out by the 12th question, that is for sure. I am
quite surprised that these jurors are so untainted by bad life experiences. I also think the guy with the six year old offered way too much information. It made me uneasy for some reason.
