happen!!
Well those SOB's let our Government shut down!!! WTF!
They would not be so smug, if "they" stopped getting paid! Why is that anyway, aren't "they" technically supposed to be Government employees?
SOB's, "their" nuts should dry up and fall off!!

The only thing each side agrees upon is in their blame of the "other side". They've known for weeks that this was a very real possibility & they choose to do nothing. This should be affecting their benefits, which include their pay but it won't. None of them have 2 fucks to give about the people they work for.

Do the people getting furloughed ever recoup their lost wages?
Something tells me they do.

In the past they have been paid, however, it's not as certain this time around. The House & Senate would have to approve it and it's not guaranteed they would.

I know a big issue continues to be Obamacare. House Republicans want it eliminated.
It's making a big difference in my life, as my premiums go up significantly, choice of who sees you (doctor) diminishes and out of pocket costs jump through the roof.
The middle class is paying for this bill and it sucks.

Yes & because of that they are at a stalemate. Dems aren't going to budge on it, not an iota & the stance that Republicans are holding keeps this issue from even being discussed. No one is willing to give an inch in either party. The Senate has rejected a GOP request for Conference Committee Negotiation and every person involved thinks their way is the only way.

This is all just stupid. I've never seen politics so wildly dysfunctional.
I'm apathetic at this point (kind of like the market right now). Good thing I wasn't planning on getting married at the Grand Canyon this weekend.

I'm kinda hung up on those fuckers are "still getting paid", while all other "Government" workers are not!
WTF, if those fuckers weren't getting paid, they would never have let it come to this.

Agreed, Cars. I'll never understand why there are different, better standards for them given they work for us.

I'm so tired of the extremists like Cruz and the extreme tactics of some of the Tea Party conservatives.
Shit, congresspersons, jump in the ring, put up your dukes for your cause and give it all you got fighting for what you and your constituency believe is best. No problem there.
But, when the match has dragged on way too long, neither side is going to achieve a clean victory, and the paying audience is weary from tomato-throwing, these assholes ought to have the sense to get off the ropes. The fact that they'd rather shut off the lights, lock down the arena, and figuratively hold the audience/sponsors hostage than work towards compromises is majorly effed-up and depressing if I think about it too much.
Managers in mid-sized companies know that "all or nothing" isn't a reality when managing for the best interests of a healthy organization and the diverse collective of people who make it possible. But, the leaders that WE elected to represent OUR collective interests in our country seem to have forgotten or ignored that very basic leadership concept. Pissing-match after pissing-match...
Ah well, so the lights are out and nobody's home. They'll be back soon and they've shown their asses now, there's no lower place to sink - nothing much left for them to do except work some things out before the public starts organizing against them and their future electability is jeopardized.
IMO.

On the bright side..............
In 1995, with American lawmakers having failed to agree on a budget, the government shut down. As a result, President Bill Clinton found himself surrounded by interns in the White House, as regular staff had to stay home. That’s how Clinton met Monica Lewinski.
Now, 18 years later, the federal government is shutting down again. The government needs a new loan to keep paying its bills, but Republicans will only agree to letting it borrow more money if Democrats agree to reduce Obamacare, President Obama’s government-supported national health care system. Since neither side has backed down, federal agencies are preparing to close their doors Tuesday. Employees will be furloughed – forced to stay home without pay – and only essential services will be performed.

I can't find a story to back it up but I heard on the radio today that Democrats took some $200+ billion off the table. Nancy Pelosi was not happy about it.

Those moron's that erratically are running our country, are just "full of hot air". They are murderer's murdering the USA! Stating absolutely nothing with any substance, facts, figures, or anything but hot air in their words. Unfortunately, it indicates that this shutdown may/is going to last a very long time. God help the USA!

This stupid cocksucker voted for the shutdown & now has the amazing audacity to tell a Park Ranger she should be ashamed for enforcing "his" directive.
How are these dumb fuckers even getting into office - because other stupid fuckers vote for them AND support them.
