A highschool football team in Texas won a game with a 91-0 score. Parents of the losing team have registered a complaint that the winning team bullied the losing team by winning so big.
Many of you have kids, would you consider that bullying?

The parents labeling a fair trouncing as "bullying" are probably the same ones that will be snickering while they play Poo-Dough with their kids. Shit for brains.
I did some volunteer work for an anti-bullying campaign a few years back. Relentless bullying that can have devastating affects on kids and teens exists in the school yard and on social media, no doubt.
But, I was surprised by what some of the idiotic adults on the project considered "bullying'.
-Get your feelings hurt in any way for any reason = being bullied.
-Lose your ass to someone else in competition = being bullied.
-Get called a befitting derogatory name or receive an eye-roll because you're acting like an idiot = being bullied.
And, it's not just kids. Plenty of adults crying about how they're "bullied" when things don't go their way or someone calls them out, in person and on-line. Nutty.

Isn't there a mercy rule for high school ball? That was asshole playcalling by the coaches most likely. Bushleague yes, bullying no.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

Unless the losing team was handicapped, I really don't see how that's bullying. Since when are you supposed to cut the other team slack in any sport?

When it gets that bad they usually let the play clock run.

That is an insult to anyone that has ever had to endure legitimate bullying. If they look up the definition of bullying they will find it completely devoid of the description of being 'shithouse at football' as part of that criteria for being a victim. Get a life.

I originally read the score as "9-0" and I thought WTF?
No, it's not at all bullying but it is poor sportsmanship on somebody's part at that level. I don't blame the team. The winning coach or the referees should have some plan in place to put the other team out of its misery versus playing the game to that final, ugly end. As Maggot said, letting the play clock run out or something...
The last I knew, in middle school softball, if the other team is up a certain number of points (I think it's 10 or so) they end the game an inning or two short.
Still, not bullying.

High school football is huge in Texas. Their high school championship games are played in the Dallas Cowboys 80,000 seat stadium. Blasphemy but, football is God down there. High school football (in Texas) is played by college rules & there is no mercy rule for 11 man football, it's just the way it is, if you're playing high school football in Texas you know what you're in for...so do the parents. When all of this is known to prospective players & their families there is no room for complaining after the fact.

This is what you get when all players receive "participation awards." Suddenly everyone feels entitled to something. Grow a spine. It's football.
