I don't think I knew that the Eagles organization thanked the fans -
Did you see BG headbangin in that vid?
Technically, I think Musgrave was just an offensive assistant in 98, although he was acting as more, the official OC was Dana Bible (who did the one year stint as NFL OC and then went back to and stayed in college coaching). The QB coach was Sean Payton.
Since then, Musgrave has had some decent positions, including QB coach with the Falcons at the beginning of Matt Ryan's career, but some pretty lackluster OC jobs. As long as he doesn't screw up Foles, he should be fine. Foles' biggest flaws imo are arm-strength and getting the ball out quick sometimes. Arm can only be developed so much, and the other just comes from experience. I think Foles' decision making is already very high, which is one of the biggest questions of a qb.
If you ever wanna look at Eagles coaches just for fun, look at that 97-99 stretch tho. Payton(Saints HC), Gruden(Raiders/Buc HC), John Harbaugh(Ravens HC), Brad Childress (Minn HC), Leslie Frazier (Minn HC), Ron Rivera(Panthers HC), Steve Spagnuolo(Rams HC), Pat Shurmur (Clev HC), David Culley (KC assistant HC).
And of course... Andy Reid and Jim Johnson. " Musgrave, who worked as the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator in 1998, came back recently as quarterbacks coach after Bill Lazor was named offensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins.
“It’s a tremendous organization, tremendous coaching staff, and they have talent on the football field,” Musgrave told CSNPhilly.com. “To see what they did last year -- winning seven of the last eight and have momentum going into the playoffs -- I feel like it’s a program that I can contribute to and also can learn from at the same time. I was excited to (come here and) learn this system, learn this culture, be a contributing factor on a team that’s really on the rise.”
Musgrave will have the opportunity to work with Nick Foles, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne." And that dude wishes he had my hair.

I've been seeing quite a few sports writers saying that Nick's awesome season last year was a fluke. Can an almost full season even be considered a fluke? Maybe I just need to stop reading and wait for the games because now I'm concerned about our QB coach. Hell no it can't be considered a fluke and I think Musgrave will be working more with Barkley and Sanchez than he will with Foles. Like Cutz pointed out, there's not much a QB coach can do with Foles because he's already solid, it's just development and experience from here on out.

A mid round pick nobody expected terribly much from, comes in and performs for no specific reason. Tommy won much more in a much shorter time span, which is why he's the golden child whereas people call Foles a fluke, but it's like handing Musgrave the keys to a Ferrari and saying "now just don't scratch it."

Some of us (at least Az Wildcat fans and Chip Kelly) knew he was an amazing pocket passer with tons of potential at the NFL level.

People are sniffing the glue again.
Nick Foles is a nice story.... so far.
And, the Eagles landed Bill Musgrave? That's who I just suffered through the last 3 seasons with. His entire playbook could fit on the back of a book of matches.
Hope it works out.

He's there as the QB coach, not as an offensive coordinator. His playbook is not what Foles will be working with. Chip Kelly will continue to draw up the playbook.

I researched him after the birds selected him, but mostly all I could find was that he looked decent as a Junior, but his Senior year his entire O-line was new(bad) and he spent entirely too much time on the turf. I trusted Andy as a QB coach tho... that dude knows talent when he sees it I think. So I thought Foles was a good pick at the time.

I knew the only playbook being used would be Coach Kelly's. I think he's a football genius, my concern lies with him messin' around with Nick. Given he's not with the Vikings anymore I'm led to believe he failed there so I don't want him trying to fix or change Nick, he's not broken.

You're reading too much into it Duch. Even assuming he's to blame for Minnesota's woes, there's plenty of coaches that've been promoted above their ability and return to their old responsibilities.

Agree with cutz. Just chill baby. He's here to develop Barkley and Sanchez for their roles as a backup, should we need one. Don't forget Sproles was signed on and he is a great backfield blocker against the pass rush, and the perfect release valve should protection break down. BTW, open training camp days were announced today. 2 at the Linc (7/28 and 8/3) and one at Franklin field (8/10).

I'm good, I just had a moment.
It's funny to me now but when Shady first came I didn't like him even a little bit, I knew he was there to be groomed for Brian's job and now I wear his number.
I got an alert on my phone when open practice dates were announced. I'm going to shoot for the 28 th. It won't be long now!

I will, I did last year. I was close enough I could have leaned over the wall and blew in Shady's ear and I got DeSean to look at me so I could snap a pic too. I took many.

2013: Chip Kelly's offense won't work in the NFL.
2014: Every team in the NFL is experimenting with an extremely fast paced offense.

I don't want to accuse anyone of faking an injury but I also don't want to see guys laying on the field gasping for air claiming they are hurt either. That shit was pissing me off last year but it's really difficult to hurl accusations when one doesn't know for sure. So when you see those guys out there doing that you can bet your ass Duchess is cussing a blue streak.
