Could you handle putting someone to death?
I don't think I could. I would find it much easier to kill someone who broke into my home rather than in the cold, clinical manner of an execution.

Some people could do that, some can't. I suppose its different between the heat of battle somewhere and pulling the lever for the gallows, hard to see how it wouldn't.
I don't think I would have a problem pulling the lever, don't know, god willing never will. I know I wouldn't have a problem dropping the hammer on someone doing harm to someone else or to stop them from the same. The executioners job is cold and detached, most people are not wired that way.

In a cold clinical execution?
No I couldn't do that. Defending my daughter and wife and family and good friends from serious harm? I would however plumb the very depths of depravity to protect them. Nothing I wouldn't do to protect them, I've got a darkside that I recognise but I wouldn't unleash the beast unless I was forced to.
We need to punish the French, ignore the Germans and forgive the Russians - Condoleezza Rice.
