A simple computer upgrade that Malaysia Airlines decided not to purchase would have provided critical information to help find the airliner that disappeared 12 days ago.

The upgrade, which wholesales for about $10 per flight, would have provided investigators with the direction, speed and altitude of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 even after other communications from the plane went dark, said a satellite industry official familiar with the equipment.

The new information indicates that had the upgrade for a system called Swift been installed, it would have continued to send flight data by satellite even after signals from the plane’s transponder and Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) went dead.

It is mandated under international aviation guidelines for airlines that ply the busy North Atlantic corridor between the United States and Europe.

Mongolia is great money on an ex-pat gig, plenty of work too, but the conditions are atrocious apparently. I'm too old for that shit. I've had my stint in a third world environment.

The Australian-led search 2500km southwest of Perth has finished for the night without finding any debris from MH370, nor the objects that appeared in the satellite images revealed on Thursday.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) announced just before midnight on Thursday, eastern daylight time, that four surveillance planes - from Australia, the United States and New Zealand - had covered an area of 23,000 square kilometres.

AMSA also explained in its statement why authorities are acting on the images only now, though they were taken on Sunday. "Due to the volume of imagery being searched, and the detailed process of analysis that followed, the information was brought to the attention of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority on Thursday morning," it said.

The search will resume on Friday morning.

Reports in the news here this morning that a civilian plane has spotted a number of objects floating together in the Indian Ocean near the area the images were reported from the Chinese satellite a few days ago.

Retired Lt. General Thomas McInerney was on America’s News HQ today to once again discuss his theory that missing flight MH370 flew to Pakistan.

McInerney and LIGNET Intel Group still believe the plane flew to Pakistan.

Langley Intelligence Group Intel Group released a second report Friday on the missing plane.


As the search for Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 drags on without a trace of wreckage at sea, the likelihood of foul play looms larger. One country keeps rising to the top of the list of suspects: Pakistan.

Ten days after the flight vanished, LIGNET learned that engineers at Boeing, the plane’s manufacturer, believed the missing aircraft was on the ground in Pakistan. For several reasons, including al-Qaeda’s presence there, historical attack patterns, corruption, weakness and terrorist sympathies at the highest levels inside Pakistan, that hunch may be right.

Lt. Gen. McInerney discussed why the plane flew to Pakistan.


“LIGNET put out a report, substantiated yesterday, that there sources got their information from Boeing sources, which is covert. Not that they got their information from the Boeing Company because they’re involved in the investigation, that the airplane was in Pakistan. That was confirmed by LIGNET on Monday and I got another source at LIGNET that confirmed it yesterday… I do believe that those people in Pakistan, in the ISI, those people who knew where Osama Bin Laden was and didn’t tell us. I believe those same elements could be involved with getting that airplane into a Pakistan air force base.”

A retired pilot, Chris Goodfellow, postulates the plane had an onboard fire and the pilots scrambled to land at the nearest airpot explaining the course change (yellow). They were unable to survive the fire which extinguished itself and all were dead before they could safely land. The plane continued to fly on automatic pilot at the corrected heading (green). Extrapolating on that theory if the plane flew on until it exhausted its fuel supply and crashed in the ocean, the search should be closer to Africa than Austraila.

The French have now released images of debris to the Malaysian government according to news reports here this morning. The images were taken some 2500 km SW of Perth the reports said.

Duchess,my info came from a Biker site. A connection I have in a intelligence org tells me this is prob legit.Was wondering when the news was gonna leak it out or if they will. It is not a fact that I can substantiate yet....
