Courtney Sanford had just posted Facebook note saying Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ song made her happy when she hit truck head-on in High Point. She also was snapping selfies as she drove.

I have no sympathy for those who get killed while texting or taking selfies or any of the myriad of stupid things people do behind the wheel. They are too stupid to live.

I understand that is a very pissy thing to say after hearing of someone's death but it's how I feel.

I don't think there is a damn thing Pissy about it at all. People do all kinds of stupid shit while they are supposed to be driving.
Lost count of how many times I have damn near been hit by some asshole reading the paper, eating cereal, doing crossword puzzles, putting on makeup, eyeliner, yapping on the phone.....

Here is an example:
Couple years ago I was coming back up I95 through Miami with a trailer loaded with equipment. 4 pm or so. I am center lane easing along close to the speed limit and there are 3 or 4 18 wheelers in the right lane. Suddenly I see a small car pop out from in between 2 of them and then go back in, this was just ahead of me and 2 lanes over. I get a feeling and get off the gas. Then, Here she comes, flying out into traffic, spins 3 or 4 times and ends up sliding backwards right in front of me. I am on the brakes, checking mirrors hopping I an not about to get rammed and she is about 5 feet in front of me, Still on the phone, no hands on the steering wheel!
I can read her lips, she is screaming Oh My God, I just about got killed!
I have to sit there until she can get her POS restarted and back up far enough for me to get past her.


If your operating a machine that weighs a couple thousand lbs, pay attention to what the fuck you are doing!
